I agree that reactionaries poisoned the language surrounding feminism, but I've probably a different idea of who those reactionaries are than Mr. Manning.
All those feminists laughed their asses off 5 years ago because they thought men won't have any chance to reinstate patriarchy anymore. What they didn't expect was men bringing patriarchy back by potraying themselves as female caricatures and whining about a trans holocaust. If the feminists just had listened to the lesbian feminist Janice Raymond when she described transexuals as a threat towards biological women
I think the other thing is that feminists couldn't have foreseen just how massive the rise in transgender people would become, it really wouldn't have effected their movement in say 2016 because they where only 0.3 if that percent of the population. But now they have experienced exponential growth and trans women now take up the vast majority of women in the breadtuber space as well as other progressive spaces. Many feminists have tried to welcome trans women only to find a sizable portion to be AGP degens. Hell my own sister thought it would be no different when she moved in with a bunch of trans people for a college dorm, but quickly found out why that was a bad idea. Most feminists want to be seen as progressive but their movement has been co-opted by the very people they sought to distance themselves from.
It was pretty clear this was gonna happen, when you bully old school feminists like JK, then proclaim the movement for yourself. It wasn't us reactionary's who killed feminism it was thee.

Many of these followers know ContraPoints from that period and were perplexed to see this new channel and to watch Nyk troon out within a year of returning to Youtube. It was because of these early videos about feminism and SJW that young people (mostly millenials and college students) began to follow Nyk for the LULz.
When Nyk came back to Youtube he pointed out that all the feminists have left Youtube after #Gamergate and that feminism no longer was a topic on Youtube (same argument he's making now). All this means is that was finally safe for ContraPoints to ditch feminism and to move to the next hype, which was transgenderism. Which I guess is a good thing for feminism, because I certainly never saw how feminism was helped along by some drunk from Virginia in a dress with a scotch bottle and a powderbox.

The leaders of the woke community seem to have abandoned feminism for intersectionality and social justice as the preferred name for their beliefs, it’s not even intersectional feminism anymore as the focus has shifted from biological women to trannies as if your woke activism doesn’t put trannies front and centre you’re now a TERF. Nyk doesn’t quite realise he’s had a part in this change, what with all his complaining about how being a man in a dress who has to put on a fake high voice when he LARPs as female is the hardest thing in the world (apparently) and his endless videos “owning” the TERFs.

Nah, no awkwardness here. Nyk is being deliberately obtuse here trying to conflate sex and gender as if he doesn't understand the distinction amongst radfems/GC/TERFs. Of course they want for the abolition of ridiculous gendered stereotypes. That's why they oppose transgender ideology in the first place, because it is based upon completely made up nonsense.
Of course our status as a sex class (being born with two X chromosomes and thus developing primary, secondary sex characteristics) must be recognized because it's not something we can just "identify" out of and has been the main reason for women and girls' historical oppression. Think FGM and little girls in Middle East/Africa for example. It's a position of EXTREME privilege to even suggest otherwise.

Pretending to not understand a concept as basic as biological sex (and the fact it's almost never ambiguous), and turning everything into a long-winded philosophical dissection is one of the worst aspects of modern woke internet leftism. Basic assertions must be picked apart ruthlessly until everything means nothing, yet when a male says he is a woman, she just IS one, you bigot.
Attacking any viewpoint that clashes with the ever changing party line, or hurts someone's ego (directly in the case of Contra's trans persona), by making a long pseudointellectual takedown is Nick's modus operandi. Notice how we've never had a coherent definition of gender from him and yet he has no issue making 2 movie length videos about terves being meanies. These people are ruthless when it comes to everything but their own sacred cows. Attack helicopter jokes are intellectually dishonest, but creating videos where you argue with yourself and manipulate the audience into thinking it's a balanced discussion isn't.
It's truly a waste of time even arguing with them about it. Nick knows on some level it makes no sense, hence the admitted lowkey terf sympathising in his livestream. This pomo garbage simultaneously destroys any basis for a coherent argument and at the same time encourages strong religious-like belief in random ideas. There is no ontological primary, nothing to agree upon in the first place because nothing means or is anything except whatever they say so.

The issue with NB is that rather than saying they’re still biologically male/female but don’t follow outdated stereotypes, NBs are trying to create a new category entirely, and believing muh gender feels are more important than material reality. It’s possible to be gender non conforming while still acknowledging your biology and not forcing others to refer to you as they/them, ze/zir, fae/faer, etc., and that’s what the GC are arguing against - they don’t like the way NB reinforces stereotypes which are, quite frankly, sexist, forces other people to change their language and deny reality, and in some cases, leads to completely unnecessary medical treatments (hormones, surgeries) that are ultimately harmful.

My example here is always the abortion of girls in China and Armenia. According to Nyk's logic those girls should just identify as boys in the womb and suddenly nobody is interested in aborting them anymore!
Everyone who has enough brain cells should be aware of the fact that an embryo doesn't have a gender, but a sex. Gender is nothing more than obfuscation and is something that we would have called sex roles/sex stereotypes in the past. But even all sex stereotypes were at the end created by a mix of biology/evolution and social factors. For example women are on average weaker than men (evolutionary/biological factors) and this leads to certain assumptions that are then made based on this fact (for example women are weaker, women need protection etc). But all sex stereotypes are based on assumptions about biological realities, not the other way around. Women weren't second class citizens in the past because of their identity as Judith Butler might think, but because of their reproductive system. Trans ideologues literally think that sex roles/stereotypes were born in a vacuum and have nothing to do with sex and until to this day I'm not sure if they're serious or fully aware of their own delusions.
I never forget how Vaush once made a video about "shortism" (the discrimination against short men) and someone's solution in the chat was to "degender height".
This is the retardation we have to deal with. There are literally troons who think that even saying "men are taller on average" is a social construct.
