They were probably in their "ironic crossdresser" phase during that debate when Contra was hesitant on coming out as fully trans.
She's gotten a lot better with makeup, hair and clothing thought and they genuinely seem happier now than before.
Idk in terms of "lolcows" Contra doesn't seem all that bothered by us poking fun at her and doesn't REEEE like a lot of the other lolcows. Overall all I'm getting from this thread is that people have some quibbles about her political and ideological beliefs, token trans jokes and comments, and comments about her involvement with other political cows.

Nah it was definitely after they came out as trans that debate was like 4 months ago and he started saying he was a woman before the thread started 5 months ago (i think about 7 or 8 months).
As far as him being a cow hes stuck between knowing that having friends and people important away from their political/'work' life is important and necessary for their mental health and craving the validation of his audience. We dont need to milk him his audience is going to do that for us, he's already disavowed shoe one of the few people who legitimately cared about him and said the only reason they were friends was to convince her of his positions (while being completely unwilling to change) or at least using her friendship as leverage. This was all because his audience started reeeing that him and shoe were friends, he has already started the descent into madness, it will take more restraint and willpower than hes shown so far to get out before hes swallowed whole.

I still find it unreal that it's the "left," who have previously been mostly cooperative in movements to end sexual assault and harassment, who are the ones pushing the idea that there is any "debate" to be had over "dating preferences."
Framing sexual orientation as a "preference" is disingenuous, anyway. When someone states their sexual orientation, they are commenting on the attraction they experience, not who they decide to pursue romantic relationships with. Even when Contra dies from an estrogen overdose (it's a joke, you don't need to comment) he will still be male, and people for whom either the label "lesbian" or "straight man" fit will never experience any attraction towards him, since their orientations necessarily exclude him. To say that they could be attracted to him is to say that lesbians and straight men don't exist, and that we are all bisexual.
I like how trannies have read our arguments advocating sexual autonomy and preferences. They've seen what we've written pointing out the backwards steps they're taking in female rights. They see our concern about their growing homophobic movement in our spaces. And instead of LISTENING to us for five seconds, they posit that we don't really care, that we're doing aaaall this just to be mean to them. But they can't let it go, and, you know, date other people who are willing to date them. They have to show how EVIL the "TERFs" (homosexuals and women) are, to make sure that none of their allies who are even slightly unsure about these issues ends up thinking these things through.
