how do you guys feel about body modification in general, do any of you want to get body mods done? any other mods besides stretched and elongated ears? how would you deal with social acceptance of them?

Tell us about it and show pictures of your goals, especially with the pointed ears deal.

Also how do you guys feel about tattoos? I don't even think they are considered controversial at this point but how do you people feel about it? Are you worried that any controversial cosmetics might lower your chances of employment or damage your career?

A part of me would like the idea of getting a tattoo, but another part of me doesn't do well with needles and pain. :( If I did get one, I'd probably get it in a place that's easy to cover. Not sure if this is true, but one common thing that I used to hear is that when you get older, the tattoo gets stretched out as your skin sags. Because of that, I've heard of people getting them removed as they got older. Would anyone here do that once they got older? I heard removal is far more painful.

I love body mods personally but I do have some limits like the guy with the plates in his cheeks. I think they can be done tastefully, and people should be able to do whatever they want with their own bodies as long as it doesn't hurt them or anyone else. People will become more okay with it when more people have them and less make a big deal about it. I think we're already going in that direction, actually.

Grace Neutral is the first person that comes to mind when I think of tastefully done 'extreme' body mods but that's subjective. I mean, some people think body mods are inherently trashy. I don't get why she removed her belly button though, that's a little on the 'too weird' side for me.

I have a lot of tattoos and piercings myself and have always wanted to get my ears pointed like an elf's :powerlevel:

The more interesting BM I've wanted to do to myself is to replace my two front canines with steel tipped fangs. Still usable, and the steel tips would be surgical metal so it wouldn't rust and rot in my mouth.

Edit: Much like this fellow:orc-teeth-1.jpg orc-teeth-2.jpg

I got them done in places that wouldn't stretch or sag and are easily covered. It's not rocket science to get tattoos that will age fine.

I always thought Howard Stern's rule was essentially a public service announcement to people who are too lazy to wash their asses.

They certainly aren't for me but and I think they start losing their appeal for most people as they get older, it's definitely something that is attractive to a younger demographic. That said I think you're right about their being a lack of tasteful mods out there - which is my issue with them. I generally don't think they compliment or add beautify to people, most seem to be attention getting or shocking in nature. The fact they attract their share of dickwads probably adds to the bad rep the get too, like facial and neck tattoos.

Nah, he's literally pretty anal about his own bathroom habits and hygiene. I use to listen to him for years on my way to work and he's talked many times about what he believes is appropriate bathroom hygiene. He's also preached the use of wet wipes for years and can't understand people shitting in bathrooms not their own, it's not typical for a guy.

I love this stuff. all of it except I don't care about the bleaching.

I'm currently interested most in the big art brut tattoos.

I feel that a lot of cosmetic body modding with what is possible these days is pretty pointless; it's mostly just weird shit like making your face bumpy, or putting holes in yourself. Besides, most of it is tacky, and could lead to complications.

As technology progresses however, more things will become possible, and I'm not gonna lie, if it becomes possible, and practical and I have the money and am still alive I would totally change my whole body. Mechanical augmentation is what I am talking.

And I do think this future will eventually come to pass, and the acceptance of augmented humans is going to be the hot button issue of it's age. I personally hope we embrace augmentation; as biology gives some people a bad deal, and it can only take us so far. Besides, deciding one's own form is sort of like an extension of self actualization.

We aren't there yet though. We're here

Looking for a look that says "body horror" but also says "bourgeois"? We've got you covered; we combined your two favorite things; holes, and faces!

Have you ever wanted to share the experience of eating with onlookers? Well now you can! Just don't expect to be employable anytime soon.

This is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever seen. Like, not even shocking or gross, just stupid.

I'm too much of a pussy to even get a tattoo so no
Call me old fashioned but I don't like people with all of these lip rings and piercings and tattoos. It just looks trashy to me.

What about genital piercing? I don't understand why some people would want the most sensitive area of oneself prodded with a needle and pierced. Like why tf do some men get dick rings?

I have several tattoos and I can tell you with much accuracy that yes, it is addictive. It hurts when you get it, more or less depending where they are. I have one on my neck over my spine, one down my spine, one the starts on my shoulder over my joint replacement scar and wraps around to just below my neck tattoo, and one on my hip (pelvic bone on the left side). Over bone tattoos hurt like fuck. It was like someone carving into my skin with a scalpel and then rubbing salt into it. The scar covering tattoo hurt the worst tho. Even more then the spinal and hip ones. I had (stupidly) believed it would hurt less, oh how wrong I was. I will say this, make sure whatever tattoos you get, that you won't regret them. I got a matching tat with an ex (stupid I know!) And I wish I could remove it, but don't have the scratch to have it done yet.

Body piercing is a bit better in terms of post procedure regret. It has scars left, but at least you won't have to carry around your ex's name or favorite comic book character on your skin, right? I used to be heavily pierced, but took them all out over the last few years. Hard to be my age with shit tons of metal in you and have a good job, right?

But my asshole is..... nice I guess? My Bedwarmer doesn't complain, and he sees it regularly, whether when we have sex of when I moon him across the house. I actually do the baby wipe/wash in the shower routine and it works. Just... don't use Cotton Elle or any other kind of Toilet wipe. Use baby wipes, because repeated use of regular toilet wipes can actually dry out or chafe your poopshoot, which doesn't feel good. At all. Baby wipes with aloe or even baby oil in them work wonders. Just use the sparingly on your lady bits, because they can dry out your inner labia and sometimes can screw up your Phone.

And now you know!

I actually have something to say about mothers getting their young daughter's ears pierced

A lot of people seem to think it's cruel, but my mom got mine done really young, and I'm really glad she did.

I don't wear a ton of earrings, but because I got the holes done so early on, they never close up. There's been years between putting earrings in and it's always okay for me.

So yeah, not for everyone but I don't think it's automatically a sign of an irresponsible parent either (though let's be real, it absolutely can be)

As an unrelated note, actors getting tattoos is a pain in the ass. You know how much goes into covering up tattoos? And it almost always has to be redone during intermission. So if any kiwi is thinking of doing acting, you'll want to get any tattoos where clothes cover it up. It'll actually increase your chances of getting cast (as they (in my experience) make you disclose any tattoos you might have, as well as asking if you would be willing to dye/cut/shave your hair)
