The real kicker is how they aren't going after the management, or the headquarters, or even the marketing team.
They're going after stores in a completely different continent to where the chain's headquarters are.
They're acting like everyone who works for H&M thinks exactly the same like some kind of hivemind when the people who work retail, and therefore the people the mob is fucking with the livelihoods of, are poorer, and often black and are probably as disgusted with the shirt as the mob is, but can't quit because they need the money.
This is clearly just an excuse to riot while also feeling like they accomplished something for the greater good.

Soo most people are not aware of this but ever since the new govt that replaced apartied got into power they actually encourage protesting to raise awareness for whatever they are protesting for (its a hold over from that era).
Anyways, just wanted to pop in and say that. Regardless its unfortunate that the riots are as bad as they are, but thats just people letting their emotions get the better of them. Keep in mind that the effects of apartied still run deep - incarceration in south africa is the second highest in the world and corruption and crime are a very real problem that a lot of us in countries better off just cant really comprehend.
And good people live there. One of the kindest, honest man i have ever had the pleasure to meet lived in Johannesburg. Just saying.
