Maybe if you have such a damn problem with the shirt, you could maybe fucking write to H&M instead of actually acting like monkeys and rioting.
Yeah, I fucking get it. Racism sucks. But you know what sucks more? Reacting in a way that enforces racist stereotypes.

Maybe I'm just some dumb pasty-white oppressor but shouldn't we be over this by now? Is it gonna be the year 3000 and some black kid will pick up a plushie of a Gorilla and be like "Mom, he's so cute can I get him?" and she's going to get triggered and rip the lil plush out of her kids hands and screech "No son of mine is going to play with this racist shit." and the kid is going to watch sadly as some other kid buys it even though gorillas are his favourite animal?

I don't understand any of this shit, calling blacks monkeys is so outdated and it's only ever brought up when black people chimp out over monkey related shit.

Soo most people are not aware of this but ever since the new govt that replaced apartied got into power they actually encourage protesting to raise awareness for whatever they are protesting for (its a hold over from that era).
So they still act like outsiders even though they won? Amusing.

It's cute people think that apartheid ended. It simply flipped, and very obviously so. Nobody cares about massacred white farmers though and whites being evicted and forced to live in shanties outside towns.
A black British journalist went over to have a look and actually ended up telling a man his white skin gave him privilege, while they were sat in the shack in the middle of a scrapyard that the man was forced to live in.

Apparently the socialist group that organized these "protests" are defending them, colour me surprised.

Man you sure stuck it to H&M guys, trashing a store that likely employs predominantly black, minimum wage workers who will have to clean up the stores and then because H&M corporate has decided to temporarily close the locations those same black staff will be out of work for who knows how long.

Yeah you sure fucking showed the big, scary, corporate white man by punishing the black people from your own community.

The boy's mother speaks out. Liam is five years old and doesn't understand the controversy. He thinks that all of the attention is because he did a good job.

People are making this family's life difficult. I hope it dies down soon. The mother should probably stop talking to the press though as people just get pissed off and ignore everything she says. Everyone is badmouthing her for her wrongthink.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5270571/Parents-H-m-race-row-child-speak-out.html

The parents of the child model at the centre of the H&M race row have admitted their fears over how it will affect their young son - as they reveal they've moved out of their home because of the global backlash triggered by the campaign.

Terry Mango, of Stockholm, Sweden, and her partner Frank Odhiambo have spoken about the outrage that greeted an image of their five-year-old son Liam wearing a jumper emblazoned with the phrase 'coolest monkey in the jungle'.

Appearing on ITV's This Morning on Monday, Terry - who initially raised eyebrows when she said critics should 'get over it' - and Frank said they have an 'obligation to protect' their children.

'The most unfortunate thing is that my son is very young and there's a lot that's going to come with this and that really shakes me a little bit,' Frank said on the show, before adding that Liam is unaware of the controversy around the picture.

'He believes people love him for his modelling job,' Terry added.

The parents called for their privacy as a family to be respected, admitting they haven't had a 'normal family life' since the furore broke, and have even had to leave their home in search of respite from the debate.

Frank said: 'As much as people have gotten involved in this for me, it's very important to understand that me and Terry, we have a son, we have other children in the home that we are raising and we have an obligation to protect our children.

'To me if we had a way to take this off I would take it off today. The most unfortunate thing is that my son is very young and there's a lot that's going to come with this and that really shakes me a little bit.'

Terry said that Liam believes the interest has been generated by his modelling skills, rather than any controversy around the picture itself.

She explained: 'He's seen the pictures and he's seen pictures online. He believes people love him for his modelling job and that he's cool and confident in his job.'

Manchester United footballer Romelu Lukaku, basketball player LeBron James and music mogul P Diddy are among the celebrities who slammed the advert as shoppers called for a boycott of the chain. Meanwhile musician The Weeknd, who has collaborated and modelled for H&M said he was cutting all ties with the retailer.

The outrage prompted H&M to remove the image from its UK and US websites, and the retailer issued a statement saying it was 'deeply sorry'.

Terry initially raised eyebrows when she told people to 'get over it' when she discovered that her son's image was at the centre of the controversy.

Speaking on the chat show today, the mother stood by her original argument, and insisted that people should respect the fact she does not believe the image is racist.

She said: 'I know what racism is. I have had racist remarks directed to me firsthand, even with the name monkey, I've been called a monkey before and my reaction was the same is the world is reacting to me right now.

'To put a t-shirt and the word monkey with racism... maybe that is not my way of looking at it, I'm just looking at... Liam, a black, young boy modelling a t-shirt with the world monkey on it. Everybody should respect different opinions based on racism.'

The image advertising the £7.99 jumper was removed from H&M's US and UK websites shortly after news of the outrage broke.

The retailer quickly issued a statement apologising to 'anyone it may have offended'.

However the image was still shared thousands of times on social media and drew comments from dozens of high-profile critics.

Even those who doubted the brand was being derogatory admitted there should have been more awareness of how the image could be perceived.

The campaign group Models Of Diversity, which pushes for more diversification across the industry, said H&M should be 'ashamed'.

The brand also took to Instagram to express further apology, it said: 'We understand that many people are upset about the image of the children's hoodie. We, who work at H&M, can only agree.

'We're deeply sorry that the picture was taken and we also regret the actual print.

'Therefore, we've not only removed the image from our channels but also the garment from our product offering.'

I hear that Puff daddy or P Diddy or whatever he's calling himself these days has offered the family a contract.

P Diddy is reportedly set to reach out to the little boy at the centre of the H&M ads which have caused such controversy.

P Diddy has seemingly responded to the whirlwind of controversy sparked by the H&M ad which features a black child wearing a jumper with the slogan ‘Coolest monkey in the jungle.’ It’s thought that he’s planning on hiring the little lad to model for his own brand, Sean John.

It’s even thought there’s a $1mil contract on the table.

There’s no word yet if the lad has accepted, and Diddy’s people refused to comment when approached by Metro.co.uk, but it would certainly be one heck of an outcome to the sh*tstorm caused by the controversy.

Diddy also posted a picture of the boy with the caption reading ‘Coolest King in the world’.

Multiple Twitter users addressed the brand, explaining that dressing a black child in a hoodie with this slogan was at best racially insensitive and at worst actively racist.

Metro.co.uk contacted H&M to ask them what their stance on this issue was. An H&M spokesperson told us: ‘This image has now been removed from all H&M channels and we apologise to anyone this may have offended.’

They added by writing on Twitter: ‘We understand that many people are upset about the image of the children’s hoodie. We, who work at H&M, can only agree. ‘We’re deeply sorry that the picture was taken, and we also regret the actual print. Therefore, we’ve not only removed the image from our channels, but also the garment from our product offering.

‘It’s obvious that our routines haven’t been followed properly. This is without any doubt. We’ll thoroughly investigate why this happened to prevent this type of mistake from happening again.’

The Weeknd has confirmed he was never work with H&M again after the clothing store was forced to apologise for a racist advert. ‘Woke up this morning shocked and embarrassed by this photo,’ the singer wrote on Twitter. ‘I’m deeply offended and will not be working with @hm anymore.’

The Weeknd, real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, launched his debut line with the Swedish brand in 2017.

Nobody won during apartied my dude. If you were suspected of being gay or a commie as well durong that time you more then likely found yourself thrown down the several story high prison they had johanesburg. That kind of hate leaves lasting psycological effects on a culture.

But whatever man just reply with a snarky quip about dem niggers. Im sure youll get a ton of stickers for it.

I remember some toy company had a similar issue when I was younger about a black baby doll in a monkey costume... sure the doll also came in a white version, but the company must be racist! Rampant sjw outrage wasn’t as much of a thing back then though.

Good god, many people call kids monkeys as a term of affection.

I am friends with a guy who has worked in South Africa. In our conversations he has more or less said that now people in charge have no experience with what they are doing and refuse help. They kill white farmers and then are left with black farmers who have no idea how to get a crop from the ground.

The apartheid was a bad thing, that is for sure, but letting these race relations get in the way when your country desperately needs improvement is so so stupid.

This sort of behavior is such a slap in the face to those that actually want to change for the better.

I think it's spelled "apartheid," and my point was that its victims won in its aftermath. One of their comrades who has been imprisoned went on to become president. What conclusion do you drive from that?

a. Prison works; Mandela was reformed.
b. Pure coincidence.
c. Victory over oppression.

The rest of your post is projection and butthurt. Go eat a cookie or something.

Im not butthurt ;)

i was hoping for a more mature answer but i guess youd rather just pick apart my spelling errors and not even argue my points while throwing out the silliest statements (prison reformed mandella? Lol.). I guess we can agree ti disagree on certain things then? I believe this is true from what i had seen with my own eyes...im sure you can see where i come from on that.
