Feedback Country/State Specific Community Watch Threads - Because not every A&H thread should be a 2 minute hate

It's been well documented that some countries are just shitholes, but they each possess their own flavor of terrible. China finds new and creative ways to degrade itself and act in the most inhumane ways possible, Japan is full of neets, and you can't pay Indians to shit in a toilet. Now, posts containing this kind of information normally end up on A&H, but they inevitably spawn the exact same comments every time. To alleviate this problem and encourage people to dig deeper to discover why each nation truly is worthy of ridicule, countries/states like Florida and Sweden should really get their own threads. These threads could either be in community watch, a new subforum, A&H, or Deep Thoughts.

It is my hope that such threads would promote interesting discussions that could survive for longer than the relevancy of a single news story and open the door for the kind of debates that many forum members appear to enjoy.

A subforum for oddball states and countries could be interesting. There's been a lot of UK stories popping up in A&H lately, and there's never a shortage of Florida or California stories.

We could even have entire OP's for areas of particular interest given the same TLC that an lolcow thread would. I.e. the thread on Canada would discuss their stereotypes, Justin Trudeau and all of the shame he's brought the nation, the Alberta oil sands mining and other ecological disasters, first nations reservation drama, and of course the fact that they produced Justin Bieber. These threads could also have an index of stories from A&H on the topic.

The problem with megathreads is they discourage people from posting.
You have a thread with 100+ pages, nobody wants to read the whole thing, so you either risk getting told off for repeating something that was posted 5 pages ago, or you chew through the entire thing and by the time you get to the end, what you wanted to post is no longer relevant.
Megathreads either die from lack of new posts or become cyclical repeats of the same few things. You might as well have a few short threads rather than one big one, at least that way the churn is visible and it's less discouraging, so you're more likely to be able to sift the gems out of the shit.

If something gets a megathread it's because people are already posting the same shit over and over again and at that point the thread subject deserves to be dropped already. I'm all for containing that shit so I don't wind up reading about how cucked the UK is for the 400th time.
