Cowboy Bebop Thread - Live-Action Adaptation in the Works (it's gonna be shit)

If the original show maker was involved? Maybe.

No joke - if any anime series could be fairly adapted to live action Cowboy Beebop is one of the top possibilities. The entire show had only 3 episodes with "plot" otherwise it was like star trek - just another adventure this week. Heck, the ORIGINAL Beebop movie proves this by just being a longer episode (and giving us a girl hotter than Faye).

So if you set it up? Sure you could do a live movie. Make it "just another day in the life" type of extended episode and it could work. If you REALLY wanted to pander to the fans, you'd animate an opening and closing to the movie to explain that the "live action" segments were just the cast all tripping on mushrooms. (which they've done)

TL;DR - someone with the talent, skill, and artistic integrity could absolutely make a Beebop movie that would be a welcome addition to the canon.

Too bad there's nobody like that in Hollywood.

I did say in the Unpopular Anime thread that SJWs would fuck it up due to sheer incompetence. Ironic, I guess, as I also said that Cowboy Bebop would actually work if it leaned into its Blaxploitation inspiration. Remember Coffee? Except SJWs don't get the ostentatious flair of Blaxploitation either, so it'll probably look like some bland, desaturated Netflix movie.

The original director was not involved because he was working on Carole and Tuesday.

Even after Sense8?
One depressing thing I've learned is how little writers matter. (See latest star wars.)

Even Shakespeare himself is ultimately at the mercy of producers, directors, editors, and actors. There's more than a few sites chronicling films where a smart script was made dumb.

Why is Jet fat? He has to fight sometimes, so why is he fat? They can't even get Faye's clothes and hair right, that's how you know it's gonna be shit. Also that bitch is fat and Faye isn't.

Man Faye had a better costume.
Yeah Jet was a big dude, not a shlumpy looking guy.
Like casting only heard "former cop" and never bothered to look at the show
