I searched for a pre-existing thread. By making this, I adhere to the fact that anything I post is about bizarre individuals or specific groups that are in my opinion, laughingstocks.

http://www.bible.ca/psychiatry/welcome.htm

I offer this webpage which is but one thing in a huge linkfarm of crazy. Scroll down without reading anything. Just take in the pictures. Let it sink in, and go read what you can (it's a long tapering list of things the guy thinks is wrong with psychiatry). I am used to people denying the merits of evolutionary science, that's whatever, from a theological standpoint they can believe what they want. Medical science is not something to belittle or deny, however. By telling people and advocating that mental health is a disease, they are endangering their practitioners.

Here are some great picks of what this guy believes;

Mental retardation does not exist. It a product of human behavior cannot exist without prior intervention.

Schizophrenia, madness, ect happens because one is sinful. It isn't a real disorder and is instead a symptom of one's distance from God.

Bipolarity is a behavioural choice.

Anti-psychotic drugs are the atheists arsenal to keep Christianity shackled and compliant

Chemical imbalances are a myth purported by atheists for...I don't know?

And this is just one page within a hornets nest of loony. I leave you with this funny picture I found on there;

To make it a bit more inclusive, rename it "crazy religious folk" or "crazy fundies" or something. There's not a single faith in the world without it's fair share of crazies, after all. ;)

As far as crazy Christians go, the most infuriating example to me has always been the communities in my nation's Bible Belt where they refuse to vaccinate their children because "God will ensure they are safe from harm" and it's God's plan for them to either get sick or not. I don't know much about their insane reasoning but it always pisses me off to no end especially considering that kids have died of brain infections because of their retarded beliefs. That shit just rubs me the wrong way.

If you want expose yourself to harm because of your washed-up interpretation of the Bible, be my guest, but don't you ever endanger the lives of your children over that shit. That's just evil. It has come so far that because of social pressure, in these villages when there is an epidemic some families have their children vaccinated in secret, lest the other churchgoers do not think less of them. It's infuriating.

On a more funny note, the whole "the earth is no more then 5000 years old" bullshit s pretty hilarious. Once got into an argument over this with some kid. He insisted the earth was only a couple of thousand years old and people and dinosaurs lived side by side. I asked him if he thinks the Flinstones is a historically accurate show then. That shut him up.

I didn't really make it about all religions for two reasons. Other religions usually have far less crazy people involved and if they do, they're far less vocal about and also because I'm sure the distinction wouldn't matter.

I have mismatched personal experiences with Christians in my community and they typically are polarized to the extreme of one spectrum or the other.

The weirdest experience I can recall is when I stayed at the city mission. It was a religious place and the night monitor was...very unique. He was convinced supernatural forces were real, like werewolves, vampires, demons, that kind of shit and had convinced himself that he was a warrior of God and it was his duty to fight off the evil. Anyways, he'd act normal most if the team but then he'd take a strange turn and leave his post to basically patrol the grounds for monsters. It was bizarre and incredibly funny.

As a guy who follows Jesus and what not, I'm pretty sure God would tell me to get vaccinated. Seriously, having just read that, did these people ever get punished due to not vaccinating their children? I mean, that would count as child abuse, right? As for the Earth's age, I remember how some creationist are divided on it, with there being old earth and young earth. Needless to say, the young earth creationist can be foolish (If I recall correctly, the "God making Earth in 7 Days" thing would take many years since it wouldn't be 7 literal 24 hour days.

As far as crazy Christians go, I'm kinda glad not of met one. On that same note, I feel I'd be face-palming since I follow the same deity as these people.

several good videos on this channel

I laughed way too hard every time the black guy was randomly sounding the ox horn. Also, the Smurfs are satanic and Papa Smurf is the face of Stalin. That's a new one

Seeing as how there could be crazed Christians who claim Papa Smurf as Stalin, I may as well tried to act like a crazed Christian only to try and make a laugh out of it. Here's my attempt: MLP:FiM is Satanic, Bioware corrupts are youth with homo's, Santa is Satan, gays and atheist are soul-eating demons, owning Pokemon makes you an evilutionist, God says the gays are evil, acting is evil, and the tolerant Christians are sell-outs! They are all agents of Satan who seeks to attack us all from the Philippines!

Does this sound funny or am I just trying to hard, only coming out as a try-hard fool?

I remember reading from TV Tropes (I'm sure though it may of been another source) that there was a Christian book or video that mentions toys being evil such as My Little Pony and G.I. Joe. Although I'm a Christian who should be cringing at this (The video you linked), I can't help but either laugh or just react with indifference. Is there anything wrong with that?

It's actually funny you should mention the Philippines because a disproportionate amount of the population there are Catholics. I used to have a bit of a penpal from there who said Catholic missionaries were well recepted there, and she believed it as well. Though due to local customs it was a weird form of religion that only took the base points of Catholicism into consideration.

Actually, I'm referring to Turmoil in the Toy Box.
Just read the comments in the video. If I were to ever play with toys such as G.I. Joe or played Pokemon, then I would of turned out to be a violent evilutionist as these guys would claim (instead, I'm just some guy who believes in Jesus). Since I own some plastic MLP junk, I wonder if they'll say owning that stuff would make me a literal homosexual. Seriously, one has to wonder how their train of thought works. My parents are Christians and yet they never restricted me from Pokemon unless I had terrible grades or if I needed to actually go outside. Honestly, I wonder how they'd feel about these videos of crazed Christians.

An oldie but a goodie! Peter Popoff isn't a Christian so much as he is an old time con artist, but you could say he's a bit of an unintentional comedian. I actually sometimes see him on the television really early in the morning and just a chuckle at how ridiculous his pitch is. SUPERNATURAL DEBT CANCELLATION! MIRACLE SPRING WATER! BUY NOW!

Reposting these about the "HOLY SHIT GUIZE POKEMON IS EVIL!!!!1" brought to you by John Paul Jackson, who wrote the book "A Closer Look At Pokemon". Enjoy how he clearly does his research.
Creator of Pokemon

To further understand Pokemon, it might be helpful to mention a few things about its creator, Satoshi Tajiri. He is described as a misfit, and is the sort of person who isolates from the rest of society---- prefering to live in a virtual world of video games or comic books. As such individuals detach from personal relationships, they often accumulate things to fill the void. The more they accumulate, the better they feel about themselves. This underlying philosophy is woven into the game of Pokemon.

The Cross is Seen as Powerless

Let's examine how Pokemon regards the primary symbol and principle in Christianity--that of the cross. In a disturbing, yet revealing, television episode of Pokemon, several kids try to defeat a fanged ghost Pokemon. While holding up a shining gold cross, along with some garlic and wooden stake, the ghost merely laughs. But as the sun--one of the gods worshipped in Japan--begins to rise over the horizon, the fanged monster's power is defeated.

For Christians, the cross symbolizes victory. It's where Satan and his power were defeated. However, in the world of Pokemon, the cross symbolizes weakness and defeat. It is shown as having absolutely no power over the Pokemon. In fact, it depicts the creature as having power over the cross.

This philosophy is slowly and subtly being instilled in our children. It's a clever strategy of the enemy. As his onslaught continues, our children may simply dismiss the cross as a powerless relic and look to creation and other gods for empowerment.

Pokegods

When using the Game Shark and computer video game, Pokemon can evolve to achieve god-like power over others. When playing on a Game Shark, players enter different codes listed on various internet websites to enable their Pokemon to evolve into Pokegods.

Even Ash, the ten-year-old hero of the game, can become a god. In talking with many children who play Pokemon, the character they most want to become is Ash. As they role-play--acting out the thoughts and feelings of the character--they gradually begin to embrace the thought that they, too, can become a god, as they evolve to a higher life form and take on higher powers by conquering others.
Enslaving Demons

In New Age paganism and the occult, it is commonly believed that spirit guides, messengers, and elementals (or spirits) can be summoned to do things for a trainer or practitioner. Spirit guides watch and tell a trainer what it sees. These spirits guard the trainer, fightoff other spirits or elementals, and carry out assignments given by the trainer.

Dangerous parallels exist between the world of Pokemon and that of the occult. A pagan trainer can capture free elementals--much like Pokemon trainers capture Pocket Monsters--and build relationships with them for future use. This same relationship is also found in Wicca or Witchcraft.
Wiccan Circles

In Wicca, guardians, known as Watchtowers, are summoned into a protective circle until called upon to fight off "bad" spirits. In Pokemon, the creatures are held in a Pokeball until the trainer summons them to fight.

In mature forms of witchcraft, one advances to higher levels by conquering demons in other people to make them their slaves. The master practitioner can then project thoughts into the slave as his demons communicate orders to the slave demons in the other person. This principle is being taught to our children in the way Pokemon capture other Pokemon. It falls under the deeper things of Satan we are warned about in Revelation 2.

Witches and shamans, who claim to project themselves into animals, recommend that only master practitioners do these things becuase an individual is not the master of the spirits, just as trainers are not masters of the Pocket Monsters. They warn that such spirits, once summoned, can be hard to get rid of, and may require an exorcism to be freed of an "evil one".
The Counterfeit Trinity

Ash, for example, can evolve into Dodrio, a creature that resembles a bird with three heads. Interestingly, Dodrio's height and weight are the dimensions of an average-sized man. Dodrio is the Pocket Monster with three heads--and interesting allusion to a counterfeit Trinity.

In the Holy Trinity, the Holy Spirit is sent to indwell, enpower, defend, teach and lead followers of Jesus Christ. The same may be said about the counterfeit trinity, except that the empowerment is dark in its nature.

Subtly, Pokemon promotes the belief that man can become like God--a philosophy that is also promoted in Buddhism and New Age religions. It is also the enticement that Satan offered to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. It was this temptation that inspired the people of Babylon to construct the Tower of Babel. It's a ploy that Satan has used on many unsuspecting souls. Will our children be the next target of his evil deception?
Dodrio, Pokemon No. 085

A three-headed creature that attacks victims by pecking them with rage. While two heads sleep, one is awake. By overcoming other Pokemon with violence, Dodrio has the potential to become a god. What is this teaching our children?
Dismissing the Harm

Some Christian parents may claim that Pokemon is only a game. They believe their child can distinguish between fantasy and reality. However, how can a parent allow their child to role-play behavior that the Bible calls foolish and demonic?

Role-playing and virtual reality games can blur the lines between fantasy and reality. Inflicting headaches, poisoning, paralyzing, and draining the life out of another person or animal can only be called evil and sadistic. It is not the ways of God. He brings life, not death.

Death, destruction, torment and enslavement are schemes orchestrated by Satan. It's his calling card.

As Christian parents, they are many harmless fads in our children's world that we can afford to patiently endure until they pass away. Pokemon may very well be another passing fad, but it cannot be classified as harmless. It teaches a philosophy which contradicts the principles of God's Kingdom and it undermines the very virtues that Christians seek to instill in their children.
Use of Sorcery

Even more disturbing is how the game of Pokemon employs sorcery. Pagan religions believe we receive strength from the five elements of earth, fire, water, air, and spirit. Each element froms the five points of the pentagram, with spirit serving as the star's top point.

In sorcery, these elements are manipulated by magic. In the game of Pokemon, these elements are manipulated by the use of "energy cards", which empower the creatures. As Christians, our children need to be taught that those who belong to Jesus draw their power from God, not creation. We trust in God's power to protect us, not the power of the elements, channeled through spirits.
Modern Witchcraft

It is surprising how many Christians are deceived concerning the dangers of witchcraft. In the last ten years, withcraft has had a surge of popularity in our culture. Just take a look at the astronomical sales of the Harry Potter children's books, where the hero and his friends cast spells, read crystal balls and turn themselves into animals.

Also disturbing is the popularity of television shows like Charmed, Buffy the Vampire Gayer or Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and movies like The Craft that blatantly promote a modernized witchcraft. Their heroines are young, hip and alluring witches. They serve as role models and train our children how to practice sorcery. It may surprise you to learn that in schools across our nation, clubs for witches outnumber Christian clubs. The blatantly defiant attitude of those practitioners is growing more hostile every day.
Night Terrors
The consequences of such role-playing strategies on our children are profound. Several parents have shared with me that, in the initial stages of the game, it was common for their children to have nightmares and wake up screaming in fear.

After briefly speaking on this subject at a conference, a mother came up to me the following day. With great excitement she said, "Last night my son's nightmares instantly stopped!" She had previously removed all Pokemon paraphernalia from her son's room, but his night terrors still remained. As she prayed, the Lord gave her a supernatural word of knowledge: her son had hidden a Pokemon card among his stack of baseball cards. After attending my conference, she returned home and spoke with her son about the game. He reluctantly confessed to keeping a card. After explaining the spiritual problems associated with the game, they went to their fireplace together and burned the remaining card. For the first time in months, her son slept through the night peacefully. When he awoke, he was in a good mood, which had not been true since the nightmares began.

Considering the fact you brought up Pokemon, may I bring in something older: Dungeons and Dragons.
