So the 1982 horror anthology film creepshow is getting rebooted as a TV show akin to tales from the crypt or tales from the Darkside (originally meant to be a creepshow TV show) all I can say is please please for the love of God don't make the same mistake the new twilight zone did and go woke talking about politics and inserting leftist talking points into the show, well there's a chance that won't be the case since the show isn't set to air on either network tv or Netflix which IMO have become just another cog in the ministry of Truth's fiction department that most modern Media has become.

This sounds promising. If they have a good budget and use traditional effects I'm interested! I remember being disappointed after hearing Rainy Season by Stephen King was supposed to be in the third Creepshow but it never materialized, and what we got was crap!

It avoided being dumped on Netflix or God forbid network tv... so there's a chance that any "politics" will be added last minute by some cringy whiny little soy boy on the staff who only got on by "diversity hire"

Well, George Romero is dead, and Stephen King has become a woke idiot (very, very disappointing I must say) so I'm not holding my breath. I'd like for it to be good, but I'm not even going to bother being optimistic about this. The best scenario for me is just hoping I'll be wrong and turn out surprised.

That and IMO, horror has been complete garbage for a very long time now, and if anything, I see this either continuing that trend, or aping the Stranger Things route and trying to appeal to nostalgic 80s horrorfags (schmucks like me) and failing miserably.

I still have the paperback comics for the 1980s Creepshow movies. I understand they fetch a pretty penny on eBay (though probably not the ones I have in the condition they're in).

I've been following this for a while. It would be impressive if it was worse than Creepshow 3 or even Creepshow Raw.

With Greg Nicotero being heavily involved I'd say it has 50/50 odds.

No really in the 70s and early 80s between going from trailer trash to a big name author he couldn't get sober more than a month or so

The movie maximum overdrive was in King's own words "written while he was so coked out of his mind he had no idea what he doing"

I always percieved the latter as him just being polite about the woke casting situation. Then again I try to take a calm approach to woke shit since its usually just a smokescreen to cover up blatant incompetence. Dark Tower is a good example, I think the producers knew it was going to bomb and hired Idris Elba specifically because they saw what had happened with his role in Thor. I can think of a hell of a lot more black actors who could have done better in the role so if they ever for some reason needed a black Roland, picking the extremely English and somewhat soft-spoken Elba was just exceptional.

Yes, it's very disappointing but to be fair, the guy has always been very liberal and he's also in his 70s, how is he going to get any information on the present day other than mass media which is criminally biased and paints Trump as this monster, if you don't know otherwise what else are you supposed to think? I doubt he's savvy enough with the internet.

Still, you'd hope he would be smart enough to have a more nuanced opinion than the typical "Trump is Hitler!" BS you expect from everyone else, King was very good at building up this special mystique and persona over the decades and now he just seems like an out of touch old fuddy duddy.

That's just part of the phenomena of the Trump era is a lot of illusions and pretensions have been shattered.
