I think it's kind of stagnated (when's the last time you heard about that thing that makes multisig less expensive?), but I don't think it's really going anywhere quick, and if it is failing, you would be able to tell just based on the price (i.e. below 100 USD).

Bitcointalk.org allow users to display their own signature, this signature can be anything and is usually used to advertise, i believe bitcointalk did this to stop spam, users can rent their signature, sites like exchanges, casinos, mixers pay about 0.015 BTC or 180$ per week, the user then needs to post a number of times, this depends of the contract, each signature campaign is different.



This signature rental system has lead to a problem, users like Nutildah often abuse the system because of the signature campaign, for example he works with other users very similar to a gang clan to attack others users and leave then negative trust, once a user has negative trust then cannot rent his signature.

Cyrus Mcnally has one main account Nutildah but is know that he uses other alt accounts, so for each account he can be earning approx 150$ per week just for shitposting, this has allowed him to live for over two years in the Philippines staying at the cheapest hotel 10$ per night.



Nutildah also offer paid writing services, this is how it works.

On Aug. 25, Wright filed a libel suit against major industry figure, Roger Ver, with the High Court of Antigua and Barbuda, industry publication CoinGeek reports.

According to an official defamation claim obtained by CoinGeek, Wright is seeking legal action against Ver for publicly stating that Wright is not the true Satoshi Nakamoto -- the anonymous creator of Bitcoin. The court document specifically refers to Ver’s video message to Wright in May 2019, stating, “Craig Wright is a liar and a fraud, so sue me, again.”
