I don't like Cage or his games but between REEEEEEEsetera and the lack of primary source material that we can judge for ourselves this means nothing to me. In a world where an okay hand symbol and Pepe and MAGA is considered alt-right nazi, all claims are suspect.

I miss that like you wouldn't believe, it's complete fucking bullshit that we can't have female characters like that in western games anymore.
The NOLF games are great.
I haven't played the game yet but Senua is acceptable, she's kind of odd looking but she at least looks like she belongs in her world, fat faced Aloy meanwhile looks completely out of place.
It's ironic because I thought Aloy in the first game was meh looking, but she looks great compared to the sequel, the more time goes on, the uglier female characters in western games get, enough is fucking enough.

I dunno dude Soulsborne series was built on everyone in the game looking like a potato. The lack of appealing females didn't hurt it none.
The best Mass Effect (the first one) was also the one where you couldn't make a convincing female Shepard.
That alone tells me you haven't played the games and are likely not very familiar with them. Every Soulsborne game has at least one appealing female character (cue all the "amazing chest ahead" jokes). The player characters can be made to look alright, but the general gist of it is that you're supposed to be in armor or wearing a hood anyway, so the female NPCs at least look interesting.

The character creator is what was used to make most of the NPCs for most of the games outside of specific boss characters and Sekiro are exception to this. All the NPC preset phantoms were made this way as well.
But if all it takes is basically sticking a paper bag over a butterface, that's something that most games can easily accomplish. At that point you've probably achieved balance with the solution, you can make the character look cool with armor and the face can look like a Rothschild.

In the uncut version of the game the black detective's girlfriend performs a strip show for him and it actually shows her nude (albeit briefly)
Forget the strip show, isn't there a full interactive sex scene in that game?
I think in both cases it doesn't actually show the characters having sex, let alone "full interactive" ones.

Facial mocap requires you to wear a helmet with a rig attached that has a camera in front of you looking at your face. The general rule of thumb is that you point the camera down at a face for more feminine features, and you point the camera up for mannish ones. It will always have an effect on the final outcome of the face once everything is combined into the final hero rig and the geometry is attached.
The problem with pointing the camera down is that for a hero character it can also give you less exact data for certain facial movements since they're going to be way more prominent and have the most actions out of any other character. Side characters or NPCs it doesn't matter as much since less is intended from them. So either by accident or intention they had the camera look up at Aloy's mocap actress, thereby giving her more masculine features. If you've ever looked at how a funhouse mirror distorts your image, it's a similar concept.
So yeah having an ugly girl in a game isn't really at the whim of some feminist designer, it's how the machines compile data. That data then plays a part in the anatomy of the face, because they're gunning for realistic movement and gestures. So since the data is already warped, the end result shall be warped as well.
