I wish I saw this thread before I posted this. Here's a post in another thread relating to the "controversy" about the devs for Ion Fury saying something on Twitter, if you want some e-drama. To sum it up, the devs said something on Twitter about sexual reassignment surgery. In response, people tried to review bomb the game but did nothing more than convince more people to buy it, either to do so to negate the review bombing or because they weren't aware of the game until it was getting review bombed.

They made a mistake by apologizing.
That's more of a death sentence than get woke go broke.
Don't just rape them, misgender them while doing it.
Has there ever been a single dev out there who's apology has actually worked against these types?
Not really. I personally hope they just add better mapping stuff and co-op multiplayer, they can grovel to their castrated demographic all they like after that, i don't care.

Given that earlier in the day the developers said it was all out of context, I'm smelling possible publisher pressure here.
I've beaten the game, incidentally, scoring 97% kills but only 43% secrets. Time for another run I think. Some of the secrets are really autistically hidden. Like, in the level Heskel's House of Horrors (quite late game), if you shoot the moon, it says "ouch." Shoot it again and again and again, and it falls from the sky with the caption "What did I ever do to you?" and you get a mega-secret. How you're supposed to know to do this I have no idea. I only did it by accident.
The final boss is slightly reminiscent of the Icon of Sin in Doom 2 in that you have to post explosives through a small gap while avoiding waves of mooks.
Next thing you know the SJW cunts will demand the classic Shadow Warrior removed from Steam for racism.
Not to mention the "Confucius Say..." jokes from the fortune cookies - "man who walk through airport turnstile sideways going to Bangkok" etc.
Serious question, how the hell did ResetEra get so much influence over devs anyway? Why the fuck are people listening to these nutjobs?

It goes back to the days of NeoGAF. For a while NeoGAF was this huge forum that had 2 things worth mentioning. The first is that the forum was elitist, just like SomethingAwful getting in was notoriously difficult compared to most forums. NeoGAF formerly required you to use a paid email service and wait for a while to get your account approved (most ISP/school/professional emails worked) and Era keeps this rule intact as GAF would later drop it sometime after the schism happened.
The second and more important thing worth mentioning is that GAF had a lot of "big names" posting there. Game journalists, gamedevs, and other industry professionals openly talked with each other on this board, along with gamers who were lucky enough to get in. For a good few years GAF had a shitton of people using the site simply to see the latest rumors and leaks, and this was fueled by the fact that game journalists would cover GAF leaks and discoveries as facts.
This gave GAF a very unique atmosphere, with game developers and journalists posting on there alongside the gamers who could get in. It also allowed GAF's campaigns to be far more effective when it came to getting results than that of websites starting less astroturfed campaigns. Over time as NeoGAF became the center of mobs and harassment in gaming, developers started to shit on GAF.
This article by a journalist circa 2011 sums up why they loved sucking off GAF. This was before the schism and founding of ResetEra. ResetEra has been worse than GAF ever was, but troon journalists still love browsing Era because it's where all the latest drama among trannies is mentioned or starts.
Never compromise your vision. Especially if people don't like it. I guess they wanna play it safe. But if you give them an inch they'll take a mile. Goddamn I thought they would be the chosen one.
