Current State of the C.I.S. Subforum - Ratings Farming, Weening, and much more

This was one of the posts we have received in Talk to Staff, regarding the state of the ADF subforum:

"I don't know if it's just me but this whole subforum has gone to complete shit. I see so much bullshit going on in there that wouldn't be tolerated in other subforums or in the main Lolcow board. Compared to Disco, there's stuff I keep seeing that would never fly in there.

When I saw the whole Weeping with Pity situation go down, I knew instantly this would be another really low point for that whole board. I used to think it was one of the better subforums around but it's gradually gotten out of hand IMO. People care much more about ratings farming than actually talking about the content. The thread titles were getting over the top and ridiculous to the point where people were weening constantly and Phil would either ignore it or even call out how dumb the Kiwis were being in that place.

@Flowers For Sonichu called out several people directly that were contributing to all these problems and I think there needs to be more of that done tbh to really bring this subforum up to the standards of the rest of the website. Just because people like @CatParty and @Smutley post in there doesn't mean that there aren't major problems that need to be fixed about it.

When our speds are going around doing unfunny, embarrassing crap like the whole Liquid Phil thing that made me stop reading the subforum for months and shit like this is allowed to keep festering, that whole mentality spreads to other parts of the website. People who want to do nothing but ratings farm and make threads on EVERY single one of ADF's posts is just getting tiresome and ridiculous.

People like @Psycho had also been acting like complete speds, openly bragging about their ebin weening plans and bragging about how they hadn't been "caught" knowing that ADF and company regularly lurk the board. Their posts were edited to remove references to such trolling plans.

This is the kind of shit that /cow/ laughed at us for and will continue to laugh at us for and it's time to stop. I am sure many others are feeling this way but just haven't had the guts to speak out openly. The board could be so much better but these setbacks are bringing it down and there needs to a change in the current direction of it."

Several people I knew have stopped browsing the subforum (including even mods) because it has gone to shit even worse than Chris Discussion subforum. With the recent Dusty drama, I think we should discuss regarding the state of the subforum right now and we would discuss about the future of it. Topics include:

1. Liquid Phil weening
2. Ratings farming
3. Any other fail trolling in general
4. Ridiculous thread titles, including misleading and clickbait ones
5. Future guidelines for the subforum
6. "No shit is too minor", and Megathreads
7. Frequent featuring of threads in ADF subforum
8. A-Logging

Quite honestly, I think that all Facebook content should be in one thread, and that some shit is too minor. There are 38 Facebook update threads on the main page alone. There's a tattoo "megathread" with tattoo updates outside of it.
We do need to keep pozloading my neghole to a minimum; this forum has the most weens on this whole site (I think). Maybe there should be a "No revealing your EPIC TROLLING PLANZ until Phil does" rule?

I've barely bothered with the ADF sub forum because of a lot of this crap. It's become this sort of weird void where a lot of stuff is tolerated and any information is given a lot less due diligence and checking than it otherwise should.

As for the ratings farming... ehhhh, we all do that to one degree or another from what I've seen.

Rest of it though, I agree with the quoted post. It needs cleaning up, threads tidying away and a bit more of a leash on it.

Less promotion too. It's a whole subforum but it seems the most minor of updates get a feature when they're largely reserved for whole threads and persons of interest when we use it for other boards.

I don't see the big deal, this place just needs to be cleaned up. Some of it with a big broom, some of it with a fine-tooth comb. And possibly new policy changes and tighter moderation over what is posted here. Though I generally agree with the suggestions above, Lord, there's no need for two facebook updates in one day alone. Chris doesn't necessarily want attention, but Phil has nothing in this world besides us, so he plays with us, knowing we document every time he breathes.

This is coming from somebody who is still entertained by the antics of a deranged homeless tranny who sucks at everything. It's a low point, that's all. It'll peak again. I mean, he shaved half his head for not one, but two huge, hilarious head tattoos. Got the HIV allegedly, scammed a terminally-ill child, and many other minor fails that make up the sum total of this lollercoaster/train wreck of a life Phil has.

With Phil switching his profile to friends only should cut back on the "nothing too minor" nonsense because only imbedded agents will be providing content. Even more so if he actually does the planned profile move.

Though I hold no sway I agree with most of this - except for the quantity of threads.

Phil is a very active cow with a variety of interests and issues. There should be some cleanup where thematically similar posts should be added or merged to a thread instead of making new ones, but huge threads of dissimilar posts make it difficult to find and reference content.

Referencing posts makes it much easier to break down phils lies which is the best way to make him flip out. Just look at the housing lies, that took 10 minutes and resulted in a nuclear level meltdown.

To be truthful, while a lot of what has been talked about already is pretty cringy and spergy, one of the only things that has ever really burned my biscuits in this sub forum is the constant 'FUEL UP THE CIS WAR VAN; OPERATIVES IN PLACE WITH POISON TIPPED DARTS; WE HAVE OPERATIVES IN YOUR DOCTORS OFFICE, PHIL' autistic role playing bullshit that people do. It was cute at first but now it just seems like a ratings farm every time someone does it.

Otherwise everything else that's been outlined has been pretty autistic too. There's some good people in this sub forum but everyone else is kind of a faggot.

One of the things people have been complaining about but that hasn't been moderated before since while it's imo a dumb joke, it's still a joke has been posts that just make up imaginary pronouns for Phil such as "Spud/Spuds/Spudself". In my personal opinion that falls under the sperging about ADF's pronouns and while it's a joke, it's very groan-worthy.

This is a comedy forum. There's going to be posts that are ratings farming/attention whoring. The question is whether it's something that's overdone to the point where it's detrimental to the atmosphere of the forum.

ADF is a great cow that produces a lot of chimpouts, death threats and is absolutely ridiculous in his attempts to get attention by temper tantruming and roleplaying his imaginary country. We just need to focus the subforum away from our autism into his autism.

It does make me sad to see C.I.S. at a low morale point and I hope for better days soon. Whenever I'm on a hiatus from KF it's memories of this board that draw me back the soonest.

Agree. Start wordfiltering some of the dumb catchphrases here and punish those that try to get around it.

So basically the people who don't hang out here are pissed that a person worse than Chris nets a forum worse than the Chris board. I don't see much of a problem barring the rapid creation of threads.

About the only thing I'd recommend is making megathreads for basic behaviors, with special ones for big failures, and laughing at people that have trolling plans and the like.
