Damn, they were my introduction to more mature electronic music. Crazy to see them go, I have many beatiful memories with their songs in the background and I guess that's what counts.

It's been mentioned a few times in here, but if you're even kinda into the band (or into old school anime), Leiji Matsumoto & Daft Punk's Interstella 5555 is worth checking out. It isn't exactly the most complex story in the world, but Matsumoto's visuals and Daft Punk's music on Discovery both share a weird retro vision of the future that works quite well together. Surprisingly, Toei hasn't copyright struck this YouTube video off the Internet, so you can watch it if you like there:
