I see it as not giving people money to play video games but giving them money for providing entertainment - that entertainment being the person reacting, commentary, etc. while playing the game. Most big time streamers that I know of don't exclusively do video games, or they provide variations of the games that are unique unto them (I.E. one guy tries to perform a simple challenge in a modded game and through a combination of voice-activated software and him reading chat messages, the audience can introduce obstacles to try and impede progress, whereupon the real excitement comes from him trying to focus on the game AND pre-empting any attempts of messages to make him say things and with the chat people to find creative ways to slip trigger words under the radar.)IMO I think being given money while playing video games is the dumbest thing ever. There should be a standard. It's different if you are receiving money and want to upgrade and to HUGE EMPHASIS- give back to your viewers who supported you literally financially to have the best of everything. Again, at it's core, giving a single person, or those CGI groups like Hololive or whatever or a cam girl to simply turn on a camera and play video games and receive thousands upon thousands of dollars is the dumbest thing ever. DSP in our case gets money to pay his bills fleeced from dent head/wheel chairs. If you did legit walkthroughs with strategy and commentary on top of it all, tip the person. But to simply drop $100s of dollars for the simple fact a person can play video games is retarded. If you were to be paid playing video games, their should be like an Ambassador program where game companies and anything game related could pay you to play video games, that is not being a shill. Never mind this whole "kiss the games ass" no, said gaming company or console brand pays you to play video games.
Phil is too pig-headed to fix his life, so he's going to die with multiple bankruptcies and debt. The problem with DSP is, well...he's not entertaining. That's why his audience has shrunk to only being a handful of legitimately mentally challenged people and the ironic watchers who want to see him mess up. And the former I think are only still around because they're so used to the routine (Stockholm Syndome, essentially) that they don't even think of finding somebody better even as Phil is tossed from platform to platform. Or Derrich who I'm pretty sure is around because Phil lets him be a creepy fuck that would get shut down on virtually any other stream instantly. Phil is the worst example of streaming because it's not a healthy arrangement, Phil doesn't even like streaming and always emphasizes the donation shit because it's the main way he funds his gacha addiction. His life is a fucking trainwreck and all he ever complains about ultimately circles back to not having more "support" even though he'll do nothing to actually fix the innumerable problems in his life.
Except the street performer presumably has talent, and has likely trained a long time to be able to do whatever it is they're doing to impress onlookers. Having an endearing personality is not particularly unique, and isn't something you can "train" for (despite what the pathetic betas following YT channels like Charisma on Command claim). Having an entertaining personality is only one facet of why these people are as successful as they are. A lot of it has to do with being the "first" in a particular genre of content, hence DSP.Much the same way you would give a street performer or a busker some money in the little tip jar/hat/whatever as you pass by. The online platform simply makes it a lot more convenient for people to donate absurd amounts of money.
I don't know about all....I watched a Kang play FEAR on console with his feet and he did pretty fuckin well."Content creators" in the sense of gaming streamers are way, way overpaid for what they do, regardless of their personality.
Remember, according to Phil he looks good for a 39 year old.
Oh boy I was hoping he was going to regale us with tales about how G4 wanted him YES HIM to be part of AotS after becoming the number one ranked Super Turbo player in the US but him being the realest true and ahnest gamer out there he'd be too real and bitch slap the producers verbally for being more concerned about how short Olivia Munns booty shorts for the next episode and not about the latest triple-a title. Sound good? OK.Phil getting basic stuff wrong about the G4 whooplah. Bugged research mechanics.

What I don't get about buying NFTs is that things like bitcoin and ethereum exist, there is no reason to buy a JPEG of a monke doing weed or a lion with tatoos when you could be buying those, it's the equivalent of buying Itchy and Scratchy money instead of buying gold and silver.Nobody likes NFTs because they are an obvious scam.
Explain it to me if I get the basic gist wrong but wasn't what happened is the new dangerhair genderspecial bi now-gay later diversity hire got pissy about the live chat being what any chat of full of dudebros and that is pervy talking about how "they'd hit that"?Bound to happen when your main news source is trannies on twitter
It honestly seems like a money laundering scam on the same level as modern art, only instead of buying a piece of paper with schizoscribbles on it you get it in jpeg form instead. What I don't get about buying NFTs is that things like bitcoin and ethereum exist, there is no reason to buy a JPEG of a monke doing weed or a lion with tatoos when you could be buying those, it's the equivalent of buying Itchy and Scratchy money instead of buying gold and silver.
I don't disagree, I just find the street performer analogy apt as that's what the function is supposed to be in concept. But, well, I guess a BETTER example for the twitchthots would be a pornographic webcam since people will donate money on there even if the girl doesn't even strip (I remember reading about this one place that simply rented rooms for girls to study in, this was in Germany or something and the girls did nothing but sit in rooms and study for college. The caveat was that they had a webcam on them at all times and this feed was tied to a live chat filled with horny weirdos, though the girls didn't need to interact with the bastards at all. The arrangement gave the girls a cut of the money the weirdos tipped on the livestream).Except the street performer presumably has talent, and has likely trained a long time to be able to do whatever it is they're doing to impress onlookers. Upper Echelon did a bit about it, going off memory 90-95% of all trades was done by 10% of the buyer/sellers.It honestly seems like a money laundering scam on the same level as modern art, only instead of buying a piece of paper with schizoscribbles on it you get it in jpeg form instead.

Dave hasn't seen dog piling on twitter before ,fuck this cunt always starts with I dont know anything about this and then proceeds to fucking rant and rant like a mad man.he actually is talking about this? he said in his pre-therapy when asked he didn't know anything about it. Oh the DSP "I'm suddenly an expert on this hot new breaking news I know everything about".
though not as quick as his NFT expertise where he started not even knowing what NFT stood for to ending with an expert opinion on the breaking troy baker tweet that happened over 13 hours from then and there was more to it than he read like baker backpedaling the tweet with a sorry you didn't get what I meant tweet and how the company he's promoting has been in trouble before for stealing people's work.
"Its not patchy its grey" he says as clumps of facial hair fall onto the floor.
