What I can't wrap my head around is why he has that reaction even when it's not something gratuitous or silly, like the Candy Kong scene in DK64, or Johnny Silverhand having fun at a strip club in Cyberpunk 2077. Those scenes, under their given circumstances, you could argue are dumb or immature. A little. But THAT? No. There was nothing that happened there that doesn't happen in The Princess Bride, a movie we know he likes.

Speaking of which, here is a good question that, if ever honestly answered, would end the speculation: Does Phil do this shit when he watches his favorite movies? Because if he doesn't, if he and Khet sit down to enjoy a movie that has any kind of physical affection in it and neither one of them has any issue with it, then there you go. This is entirely about running away from the old version of Phil that made dumb sexual comments and racist jokes. If he only does it on camera, and never in front of his soulmaid, then it's not even about her or Leanna. It's about his image, which of course he thinks he can fix. It's why he suddenly cares about Twitter, after all.

That Jerma guy is okay, also a few Total War streamers are nice guys. But I don't get the allue of 99% of what seems the 'typical' streamer, not including the scum layer where you get the DSP / Wings types.

Phil is suggesting that the next Viewer's Choice marathon be locked to retro games that he already played (not within the last 5 years). He explained that Kat put on RPG music last night to relax and the Chrono Trigger soundtrack played. Phil explained in depth that he would like to play CT again.
So he basically wants to play CT and is already trying to steer people to vote for that in this theoretical event. He'll probably play it regardless and probably to use it to stall on playing whatever actually wins.

It still cracks me up that he absolutely has to throw poor Kat under the bus whenever he's making a new rule for his stream. Too much of a pussy to make commitments on his own, so *thumb* muh wife agrees with me! If you have a problem with it, you are LITERALLY attacking his family and you need to stop being toxic. It's like the "Excuse me, he asked for no pickles" meme, only the wife couldn't give less of a shit of what Phil is hiding from.
This "retro stream" should be a riot, because no matter what he plays we'll get 2 hours of him calling the game shit after he previously called it good or a mixed bag. We'll probably get the old "It hasn't aged well!" excuse.

Even if it somehow made it you know he would veto this one, RPG and all can;t play too many of them at once unlike say Chrono Trigger.

It really feels like he's trying to finesse a Chrono Trigger playthrough in place of DOS2 and I think he's going to be shocked to find his audience not having it and demanding he play something more interesting. Don't get me wrong, love Chrono Trigger but watching DSP play JRPGs is like watching paint recite Shakespeare but it's a play you've seen 9,000 times and you're just now realizing you're in hell.

make this retro replay dogshit a seperate monthly subscriber goal, do something different and base it on followers for once, maybe set a huge channel points goal for it, or atleast wait for this viewer's choice to finish

EDIT: After again explaining that he is as safe as he can be, Phil again gave a run down of his precautions.
He hasn't mentioned the hand ax and I don't think I've ever been more disappointed.
Phil, please. They're iconic, don't recton them out. In fact, the $50 tip goal should be to set it on the couch next to you. We want more paranoid self-defense hatchets, not less.

Phil really needs to learn the definition of opsec. A smart person doesn't disclose their security measures to the general public, because now its even easier for a poop-toucher to plan ahead with all those things in mind. He's already disclosed that he has no firearms and the only actual weapon at his disposal is a survival hatchet. If it was anyone else, I'd assume they're playing 8-dimensional backgammon and have a few surprises up their sleeve, but this is Phil.

I'd take that with a grain of salt. I remember Boogie said something like that about firearms to garner sympathy, and before we knew it, he was firing warning shots at Frank Hassle. Phil would probably hide in his office with the hatchet, and finally go berserker if the intruder decided to fully penetrate the pigpen. Phil would then gas out after 30 seconds and then get beaten down or shot.

The thing is that even if Phil likes some fighting games, he still likes winning more. This completely stalls him as a player and prevents any sort of growth.

Another example is the recent Gran Blue game. I remember he got mad as fuck with that one, especially with the characters taunting him afterwards. Big ups Lancelot.

@LyteSydeByll Any thoughts on the fact that, as you have been playing CT, Phil has suddenly had the revelation that he needs to play it as well? Seems like a strange coincidence to me...

I remember saying in the chat that phil can't play JRPGs for shit, and Byll commented on it. I guess pigroach took it to heart.

He is trying to get people to pay him for an event, to play a game (CT or otherwise) that he would likely have picked up again anyway, and then will beg during playthrough. He really loathes that he has to play Divinity.
Phil is getting frustrated that people are suggesting games that he hasn't played, and is telling them they need to go search if he ever played the game themselves - if he didn't, it is ineligible. Classic TIHYDP views are about to get a sudden surge...

I wasn't holding out any hope for him to play DOS2. He should fucking just admit to himself, the fans that voted for it, and the rest of his audience that he's just not going to play it and that he's too much of a pissy bitch to attempt it.

I thought he wanted a challenge? Hey Phil, play DOS2. It's challenging. You said yourself you want a challenge. Replaying an old game isn't a challenge. Challenge yourself, Phil. Or were you, predictably, lying about wanting a challenge?

So I guess cheaters exist in all version of it, so it's not much of an excuse to avoid emulation vs console

I have the RAP 4 Pro VX SA Kai and it has a turbo mode, so yeah.
