In one of his original comedy specials he had a segment about how people care too much about celebrities' political opinions. You can now unironically insert Chappelle into his own joke and it'd work perfectly.

"Can somebody please find Ja Rule Dave Chappelle so I can make sense of all this!? Where is Ja Dave? Save me Ja Rule Dave Chappelle!"

Literally within the first minute of the set Dave referenced that bit. It's not like he isn't self-aware.

Chappelle. Understandable screed, but this one needed more time in the oven.

Blacks going after random white or non-black targets that specifically had nothing to do with Floyd's death is not equivalent to ganging up on Dorner. Dorner had more in common with Chauvin than anyone else, only Chauvin killed fewer people. Once you look at the four officers involved, 2 white, 1 black, 1 asian, you can only determine this was a case of police brutality, aided by the horrendous use of force policy at the MPD. It wasn't a clear cut case for racism. The black community hasn't realized yet what a golden opportunity they had to use George Floyd as a universal victim of police brutality. Instead we have to low hanging rotten fruit of race-carding. And now Chappelle fell for it too.

Even if it could be proven Chauvin was a racist, protesting wouldn't punish him for it, nor would it help to eradicate racism. Racism will always be out there. The only way to actually prevent it is to put your best face forward. If all it takes is a handful of mixed-race cops in Minnesota to cause thousands of black people and their progressivist hipster commie white red shields to destroy non-black businesses and kill innocent civilians, then what would prevent a whole new generation of non-black folks from being prejudiced against black folks as a result?

I don’t think it’s that bad. Remember you had a lot of societal unrest throughout the late sixties and the seventies. That period also had its fair share of leftist terrorist groups that make Antifa look like the modern KKK. And yet we managed to get through it.
I keep saying the 2010s was a retread of the 60s it's entirely possible the 2020s will end up the neo 70s.

The best part about this "special" was how he made it about him for some time. Muh burfday is ruined wahh wahhh niggas stop dyin with numbers related to me in any way . And why the fuck was he so salty about kobe dying, just because he was good at something and black makes it somehow more tragic for Dave? Are there so few blacks capable of being good at shit that anyone of em croaking is a tragedy for their whole race? Parts of this dumb rant of his that shouldn't even be 8:46 long looked like he overacted so hard to seem tragic and ripped apart by the bad bad whiteys keeping black man down. His way of talking about the murdered cops was disgusting all that was missing was a they deserved what they got. Dave Chappelle's gonna support dangerous radical black groups with money and fueling the escalation soon (for allah ofc).

No, sounds like he decided he was afraid of being Cancelled after all and this is his attempt to get back into good graces after his last special.
No, this sounds like the genuine opinion of a man who grew up in the projects of washington DC showing empathy to a people whom he was once a part of before he found his riches in comedy.
Chappelle doesn't have to be 100% "I hate trannies" right winger anti-sjw opinion spouter man, nor does he have to be 100% "Pink pill kids, free SRS for everybody!!" leftie commie. He's a grown man with his own beliefs that don't have to align 100% with one side between whatever lines are drawn between identity politics.
Besides, his tranny jokes were jokes. He didn't give a full, sober, serious 30 minute monologue about the dangers of cutting your dick off and taking pills to feel like a woman. He just went "haha trannies crazy".
For as much he denies it though, he bought the media narrative hook, line, and sinker

He sound genuinely angry that someone would have the audacity to take 8 minutes and 46 seconds to kill someone, ignoring of course that George Floyd didn't lose pulse before he got in the ambulance, I still don't see how this is such a significant event. Because it was caught on camera? There are people who are left to bleed out for way longer than that. People who daily are stabbed or shot and left to die an agonizing death. But of course we don't care about those events because that's just normal, now some police brutality against a black man, now that's news.

With some rational perspective the death of George Floyd was not a singular event. People like him die constantly, every day, and some finding themselves in way worse situations.

It's being perceived to be important because we're being told it's important.
There was a stream of piss on the street like 6 minutes in to the video after Floyd stopped crying out in agony, Floyd died on the street, his body completely went fucking lax. It's funny how you keep trying to find a way to justify this murder. You bought the police narrative hook, line, and sinker. It's real common to have reports in these kinds of cases be "the suspect died in the hospital" like they were somehow mysteriously still alive in a cop car even after not receiving medical attention within the critical first 5 to 10 minutes of cardiac arrest.
They're allowed that technicality that suspects technically "die at the hospital" much like how patients in ambulances "die at the hospital" since the doctor is the one to declare people dead since resuscitation is impossible at that point. So, the moment they hit that ER door, only THEN are they legally dead, and it's technically not your fault!
Try having somebody press their boot into your neck for almost 9 minutes and see if you can keep a steady breathing rate past the first 10 seconds.
Police brutality gets blown up because the police aren't supposed to use excessive lethal force already detained suspects that are in no way a danger to them. They aren't the fucking Punisher, they're there to serve the people.

Chappelle has always been a leftie. His opinions haven't changed dramatically. The left has gone so far left some people think he's right of center.

Never seen someone piss themselves out of fear? He was declared dead an hour after arriving at the hospital, and according to EMT workers they didn't detect a lack of pulse until after they had left the scene. You're willing to disbelieve EMTs just to uphold your narrative. Official autopsy does not support the claim that he got strangled to death. And the events of the last week has proven that normal people has to fear the boot of thugs far more than the police. The likelihood of becoming a victim to crime committed by the violent mobs infinitely overshadow police brutality as a societal problem. But please, continue to buy the narrative that one man dying legitimizes more murder and destruction.

“Grew up in the projects” my ass.

Dave Chappelle's father, William David Chappelle III, worked as a statistician before becoming a professor at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio.[12] His mother, Yvonne K. Chappelle Seon (née Reed),[13] was a professor at Prince George's Community College. Seon also worked for Congolese Prime Minister Patrice Lumumba;[14][15] she is also a Unitarian Universalist minister.[16] Chappelle has a stepmother and a stepbrother.[4]
Chappelle grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, and attended Woodlin Elementary School.

So is it all an act?

I mean he's mentioned the city before in his 2016 standup, but it seems like he grew up richer than one might suspect.

Someone with his former so-called "values" releasing mainstrem propaganda promoting state sponsored divisional tactics victimizing his own self-proclaimed people. Dude shoulda stayed in Africa if he had to go this low to enjoy Hollywood fame and fortune again.
