Danny boy was making trans-people look really bad. So bad that "Danielle" was starting to overtake the term "Karen." It was a PR disaster that showed trans people for what they are. They wanted to talk to him to encourage him to shut the hell up for all of their own sakes.

Trump is a lot of things but he is not a man who is so deeply fundamental into their religion like pence is. I come from a fundie family and what they believe about gays (and especially people like dave),women and how they actually treat these people is more terrifying than anything Trump has done.
A lot of those people didn't vote last election because of Trump, they would roll out of the woodwork for someone like Pence.
