I feel like that comic might even be aesthetically pleasing if he knew how to reign himself in. I get exaggerating features and etc for stylistic impact, but everything is exaggerated to the point of the pages being too cluttered to really process what's going on. Especially in the panels with a bunch of characters included, they blend together into an Akira blob.

Yeah, I can tell this 'Screaming Barrel' nonsense is meant to be creepy, but... it isn't. It just isn't, and it's largely because of the totally inappropriate, cutesy-wutesy, bug-eyed Tiny Toons artwork. I know I'm supposed to be seeing an entirely implausible vat containing a veritable grotesquerie of decomposing corpses, but the ridiculous neon furries make it absolutely impossible to take seriously. This doesn't look like a bunch of human or even animal bodies. It just looks like a pile of grody old neon fursuits, which is still pretty gross but not for any of the reasons it's supposed to be. I'm watching a bright blue vaguely bunny-rabbit looking thing with anime hair (anime fur?) raping and tormenting a sexy Yoshi and Rocket Raccoon's booby sister by threatening them with used fursuits. There's a flailing cartoon hand at the right-hand side of what's supposed to be a hideous, twisted mass of decomposing flesh, and I can't tell if Hopkins here is trying way too goddamn hard, or isn't trying hard enough.

Also, does anybody else think it's weird that as often as Dave draws dicks, he never seems to draw balls? Like the dicks just hang there limply down from the crotch with no visible balls behind them.

Apparently something happened with Dave and the Dewalts cut ties with him. I wonder what it was because they've always been good friends for decades so it must've been something pretty serious for them to have a falling out.

The Dewalts seem alright and Hopkins...well, we all know how skeevy he is. Still, I'm surprised because they stuck by him during the worst of his drama.

Side note: I remember seeing Dave's wife, Katie, at an old Star Fox BBS I used to post at. (She used to go by the name Karma Leafbearer, iirc) She seemed to be an okay person from what little I remember of her, but when I found out years later she married the guy who did 'Jack', I was like "Holy shit."
