Okay, fine, I'll say it, even though I've no doubt it's already been told to you a thousand times before: Purple prose only works if you're saying something that can't be expressed in plain language. There are of course many exceptions, but the vast majority of those are in fictional literature. When you're wanting to make a coherent, accessible and compelling argument or statement, you say what you want to say, not what you think will hammer those illiterate halfwits and commissariats into intellectual submission. He might not be the type to join message boards. It can go in so many ways, but I think for now, I'm starting to agree that it's best not to have more subforums at all.
