I want to say this is shocking, but knowing how prevalent and easy it is to access people through technology, I'm not as surprised as I should be. David Ellefson doesn't come off as that type of guy, but the fans only see him from a musical perspective. What he did was embarrassing and I'm sure he regrets it to an extent, but this will haunt him and more importantly, his family. It's a shame his wife and children will have to deal with the fallout from this nonsense. Lust, fame, and technology do not mix well.

Megadeth is my favorite band and always will be. I still respect David Ellefson for his musical ability. This is still a private matter, despite how disgusting and deplorable it is. I do not condone his actions and I hope his family can recover from this.

This sort of shit in music is pretty common. "Age of consent" was just an advisory, if the groupie looked old enough, it didn't matter. Led Zeppelin is infamous for doing this shit but pretty much every big name got to do it. Doesn't surprise me at all that decades later, these aging musicians would still be operating under that mindset even if you'll give them the benefit of a doubt and assume they learned better with age.

Still sucks though since David Ellefson's a legend, but ah well.

eh, its Mustaine’s band anyway so it’s not like he can take away our full enjoyment of it and big Dave has made decent albums without him. Mostly disappointed and somewhat disgusted with his bassist though.
