Can confirm everything I've seen on this thread myself. Went to an ASL course first year in college and the bitch was straight up a deaf supremacist and said a lot of the shit here.

The idea of a deaf supremacist is strangely amusing. You have massive disadvantage in all possible situations, except getting an early night when next door is partying How you even begin to rationalise that?

A lot of it is just coping that turned into a misplaced sense of pride. It's a shame since avoiding self-loathing is important for someone in that kind've condition but they went past that and just trucked on into rampant stupidity.
