It is scary, but it's also somewhat encouraging that his mother is finally taking a stand and actually doing something useful. I don't know how much keeping the mace on her person is warranted, but she should have taken the fucking car keys away right after he lost his driving privileges. He was a danger to himself and everyone else behind the wheel.
I still think his mom is in way over her head thought. Jace needs to go away for an complete psych evaluation. A few months of intensive therapy (and possibly a change / adjustment to his meds) could do him a world of good.

What's Jace's personal hygiene like? I can't imagine he's had the time to have a shower since Live Stream #5, and that's been over a week and a half ago, and he's spent at least one of those nights sleeping in the forest in his coat. He must smell like shit.
On his Twitter he just said "if I give up my way of life dies when I go on medication." It's really sad how Jace genuinely believes that Stryker is real, and how he wants to hold on to this persona for as long as possible, despite how much hurt it's caused him and his family. Do we actually know if Jace is schizophrenic or has dissociative identity disorder? Because that would explain it pretty well.
Also, how long ago did Jace lose his license? I know the cops got called after the vlog-ust thing, has it been gone for that long?
I hope this doesn't end in Jace's room being engulfed in flames...
But seriously, I feel really bad for Gail at this point. It must be difficult to live in a situation like this with your adult son. One who calls you a bitch to your face, and pulls stunts like this. The whole "kicking him out" of the house was obviously an attempt at tough love, but she relented and let him in with a "You can't be Mr.Stryker while in my house.". She's obviously not aware how much the Stryker persona means to Jace.
It's a bit sad honestly, it's easy to say that she just needs to take him to a therapist, or leave him in a psychward. In the end though, it's up to Jace, and he seems quite insistent on being Stryker McBadass (even though he sounds like an angry 13-year old).

I just checked with my husband (who is working as a direct support professional while pursuing a degree in psychology). He said that , although it wouldn't be easy, Jace's mom could have him committed (potentially using his vlogs and tweets as evidence of his mental instability). My husband said that the better alternative, would be to have him placed into a 21 day rehab (they're 21 days here in NH, not sure about anywhere else): depending on how this goes, he could end up being committed.
