You know what would be great, if Roth makes everyone think he's remaking Death Wish 1, but in reality the film is going to be a love letter to the Cannon films.
After watching the trailer, I think you might be on to something
The funny thing is I posted that BEFORE watching the trailer. I've always felt Death Wish is one of those franchises were people are more likely to have watched the later installments and may not have even seen the original, so if anything the movie is probably going to take more inspiration from the later films than the original. After watching the trailer, I think you might be on to something
Fuck all this noise.
I just want to know who's playing Jeff Golbblum's part.
As I said in chat this morning, I hope they cast Jeff Golblum for the same role

Then he'll go get some jumbo barbecued shrimp. YOU MOTHERFUCKURRRRRRRR!

Good luck, asshole. You're a spineless, gutless turd who doesn't belong in the business. Enjoy your run as a 'studio head,' Glickman. It's going to be a short one. Fuck you, Joe Carnahan.
Tbh, I have no interest in the movie because the trailer makes it look like a tonally inconsistent mess of a movie (Wife murdered? Daughter raped? Time for it to turn into a light-hearted action movie!), especially with Eli Roth directing. However, watching people reeeeeeee is pretty entertaining.
Fun fact: Joe Carnahan, the screenwriter and the first director attached might be the saltiest person towards this movie:

Another fun fact: This is put out by Annapurna Pictures, the same company that's putting out Detroit this weekend. Talk about playing both sides.
Some them seem more offended about a movie than the actual murders in Chicago.
I saw this years ago, but don't really remember it. However, didn't the first movie have an extremely graphic rape scene of a sort I doubt you could make in 2017?
The censor at the time, Stephen Murphy was concerned about the repeated use of the [word] 'cunt' during the early rape scene and also the aerosol spraying [of the daughter's rear end] in the same scene. Robust defence from director Michael Winner convinced the BBFC to leave the film uncut.
The video was submitted to the BBFC in 1987. James Ferman wanted cuts but could not see how they could be made without destroying the important scene. The impasse ended up with the video being withdrawn from the BBFC rather than receiving a formal ban. But it ended up being unavailable for 13 years...
Remember that Jews go from oppressed POC to FUCKING A WHITE MALES if they're not toeing the line. Same thing with Latinos.Do the people who claim Eli Roth is part of the alt-right realize that he's jewish?
It did, and, even back then (at least in the United Kingdom), it was considered touchy enough that the BBFC edited it. According to Melon Farmers (a UK website that tracks down censorship done to British movies and movies imported from other countries [that includes America]):
However...

Death Sentence, wasnt a remake its based on the sequel novel of Death Wish, except not the author rewrote the script based on Death Sentence from scratch because he hates the Death Wish films.Wow they are remaking death wish again. Personally I thought death sentence (kevin bacon) was pretty good.
