I just found out that the weekend before Death Wish, Justice League's coming out. The week before that, Daddy's Home 2 with Mel Gibson's coming out. If that wasn't enough, Mary Magdalene with Joaquin Phoenix as Jesus is coming out two days after Death Wish. If Justice League beats Thor: Ragnarok, Daddy's Home 2 and Death Wish do well and religious nutjobs freak out about Mary Magdalene, then this is gonna be a very salty Thanksgiving at the movies.

Death Wish and movies like it, such as Escape From New York and (arguably) Serpico, were made in part because of the real life violence and urban decay of numerous metropolitan areas in the 70's and 80's. The idea and subsequent popularity of a normal citizen fighting back against the urban blight and doing what the police and politicians couldn't (or wouldn't) do didn't come out of nowhere. Perhaps these buttblasted liberals and social justice types should be questioning why it's still popular, why the conditions to make it popular still exist after all this time, and what they can do to fix it.

Ah who the fuck am I kidding, they're not gonna do any of that. That'd require real life work and not sitting around on Twitter mewling and virtue signaling all day in their trendy coffee shops. But you've probably heard of Titus Andronicus, often wrongly maligned as one of Shakespeare's worst plays, even though it contains one of the best yo mama jokes in classical literature.

Death Sentence, wasnt a remake its based on the sequel novel of Death Wish, except not the author rewrote the script based on Death Sentence from scratch because he hates the Death Wish films.
