Well this is... disturbing. These kids are already being groomed by their HAES mom and will follow her diatribe even when they can't do the same thing most kids can. Why would anyone even want to raise their kids to be fat?
These kids will be bullied as soon as they are around normal kids and instead of helping them, their mom will cry to her followers about her "bigger" kids being fat shamed.

Those kids are big. Look at Honey Boo Boo for example. She was that size or smaller at that age, and look how massive she is now. I feel so sorry for her. Every member of her family is morbidly obese and she has no hope. With the exception of her father, who is thin, but passes out regularly from his diabetes.

It's attrition month where I work, so expect only occasional check-ins...

They will also die much earlier too, and suffer much more before they do. I remember it being said that this generation (they might have been talking about millenials) would be the first to die at a younger age then their parents, due to obesity. Now I don't know how more severe the shortening of life will be for the children born to the millenials, but it appears to be that the earlier you become obese (and stay that way) the shorter a person's life becomes.

I think it is time that fast food and junk food becomes as heavily taxed and regulated as alcohol and cigarettes, because obesity is just going to get worse if we don't do something. It seems that the more taxed and regulated something becomes, the more people stop wanting to use it or consume it (because it becomes a royal bitch to get) and the price + taxes make a lot more people willing to think it isn't worth it.

Taxing and regulating fast food and junk food will not do what you think it will, Not only that, but most of the people who have attempted writing those kinds of laws need to be sent back to the tard pen and not allowed back out because of some of the things they think are 'good' ideas. (People die from no sodium, it's why we're so hard-wired to seek out the flavor and why it used to be so incredibly valuable.)

Once again, people can lose weight on any diet, as long as their body isn't fucked. People have lost weight literally eating daily at McDonalds. A nutritionist did so on twinkies. I've fucking been losing weight and I've been pretty much not giving a fuck about anything beyond "What is my (calorie) budget?" because...well, you try finding something to eat at 9PM when you've just wrapped a 12-hour shift.

When I worked for a weight loss program we had clients com we in that were obese since childhood and they often came from homes where the parent was a druggie, obese themselves, or just trash that never took care of their health. A kid being allowed to be obese is just dooming them to a difficult life.
With WL programs, most people fail because they expect it to be a fix all place. The old clinic I was at allowed 16 year olds to come in for help and the parents would get mad when their kid suddenly wasn't thin when the summer was over and they wasted a shit ton of money of a diet program they didn't help their kid follow because "healthy food is expensive".

Yeah, the druggies' kids tend to be just plain fucked and there's a certain level at which I kind of feel that it'd be better for the kids to have it so the parents can and will lose custody fast--there's so many ways they fuck up their kids, when they don't decide that their kids are worth it to them to get clean. (And, well, food addiction is a thing.)

But then, I may have a certain amount of bias against addict parents who are too busy being addicts to attempt faking being a vague approximation of decent human being. I've known too many of their kids...

There is one woman I remember and she had major problems and stayed with the clinic far longer then she should have. She was one of the larger patients and actually had a gastric band surgery years earlier along with skin removal but gained all the weight back after the band was removed and she went back to her old habits. She very obviously had a problem and wanted an easy out. When we went over a 1600cal meal plan that she claimed to follow, she admitted to occasionally putting a scoop of ice cream in her morning protein shake for flavor and was obviously refusing to give up soda since she claimed she needed the caffeine. Plus she confessed to taking multiple "diet pills" she got off amazon and taking hydroxycut on top of everything. It got to the point where she would just lie and say she was doing everything and would often cry during her sessions.
She just stopped showing up after the owner told her that he didn't think the program was right for her.

The teenagers were sad ones. Often it was the slim mothers bringing in their crying daughters and saying they don't know how their kid got so big and then would get mad when they didn't lose weight rapidly.

From talking with my partner, who's more your field, I've heard a lot of it is just...having a weird idea what is a 'standard portion'--things like looking at a large pizza and thinking it's a normal one-person portion for a normal day, when your activity levels and schedule aren't the kind of insane where you will be burning that off.

Though. One reason I'd pretty generally give kids older than preschool when first spotted a hard pass on being included here is that a lot of sexually abused kids go for gaining some extra weight in hope the pedo bothering them isn't a cubby chaser.

That said: Given the kids in here have pedos sniffing around, I think it's probably not wise to bet that they're going to be bothered even once you get to being a deathfat. Or maybe the ones sniffing around are specifically the ones whom...ah...more agile kids will outrun easily...?

Pumpkin's real name is Lauryn. They all have some kind of nickname. Even Honey Boo Boo's dad is called Sugar Bear. Jessica used to be called Chubbs, and Mama June calls Pumpkin's daughter Ella 'Tinky Butt'.

You know there's a lot of threads on this site I have no problem reading but this one is just really bad for some reason. I can't even go halfway through the first post, this is so fucked up beyond belief. People truly forgot how important the first few years of life are for children. If you deprive them to the right of maintaining a healthy physique and diet then you can drastically impact you child for life. Minus all of the hundreds of disorders and mental defects that are possible from doing this to a child it makes it 10x worse that someone would do this for fame and profit. Let alone it's even worse that there are those in society that cheer and applaud this behavior and regularly consume it. Barf, what a sad thread this is.

God, those toddler and infant videos make me sad.

I've got kids, helped raise my siblings, have grandkids.

One thing that is the same with all healthy babies, when they are excited they flap their arms and legs. They laugh, giggle, and flap around.

Those babies in those videos?

They twitch.

Their arms and legs are so heavy they can't wave them around and build muscle tone.

A young baby will stand on your lap if you hold their hands and bounce up and down and laugh, their little legs flexing as they do something neat and new they can't do yet. A baby who has started to pull themselves up to standing will often bounce up and down and giggle and laugh.

Nothing with those fat babies. They don't bounce around, they don't flap around. Remember those shitty baby things with the seat, the tray, and the wheels that you gave a kid who wasn't quite old enough to walk but was trying hard? You put them in them and they run around the frontroom laughing and having fun, building up their leg muscles?

Those kids can't even fit in one. For fuck's sake, those kids are exhausted just breathing.

Fuck, my heart hurts just seeing that.
