I was watching documentaries about the history of the British Monarchy and I arrived to the modern Era, the House of Windsor (aka The Royal Family), and I started to ask myself a question: Is the House of Windsor a bunch of Lolcows?

Definition of LolCow: (From ED) A LolCow is a victim of a Flame War who can't help but be milked for lulz time and time again. They have a compulsive need to give up as many laughs as possible at their own expense despite themselves.

Look at all these stupid Royal Scandals, all these Paparazzo monitoring their lives, every single fucking details of their over-the-top life as degenerate rich people being discussed and milked for laugh and cries by the commons, in the 16 countries Her Majesty rules as Monarch, and abroad, like in the U.S. and in France (the Paris Match being one of the most hardcore when it comes to the House of Windsor).

It seem to me the House of Windsor is the mainstream Lolcow. the Lolcow to end all Lolcows. Their mundane life being exposed on a daily basis for our entertainment, like a thousand years old reality show with deep roots in the Dark Ages, influencing global politics with shitty family dinner and blue balls...

Your point is compelling, but "royals" are a subset of celebrities. Their fame and the public's total disregard for their privacy is a result of their birth into a prominent (if obsolete) position, and in many ways, they cultivate their image and interest in their activities (Coronations, weddings, etc.). There are many people who agree they are important.

Not so for a lolcow, only the lolcow and perhaps a committed group of enablers assert their importance.
