The lack of proper security has lead to the one genuine political head being in a state of danger 70% of the time at the hands of a rare species of large fire breathing Snapping Turtle, and the other 30% of the time is involved in such things as kart racing, golfing, fighting, dancing, and party games. Activities that have nothing to do with the every-day running of a country. The only genuine defense for the kingdom is a obviously non-mushroom plumber, and his brother. And both of them often encourage the princess in taking part of the previously listed non-government activities.

Is this a situation that calls for a democratic revolution?
