Just another internet bum.

aniel Desmond Amofah, known online as Etika, sent a number of suicidal tweets on Monday night and Tuesday morning, sparking alarm amongst his 300,000 Twitter fans and followers on the social media platform.
The YouTuber, best known for building up a fan base through the Nintendo community, started tweeting out odd messages on Monday night. “Don't do a deal with the Devil!” he tweeted, before shouting out Drama Alert’s Keemstar, sharing long strings of emojis and threats to former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé.

At 3:26 a.m. EDT, Etika tweeted, “ Savonarola! I'm going to kill myself! You lot certainly have already. Shame on you all, silly humans.” Fellow content creators, like Sky WIlliams and Chad “Anything4views” Roberts appeared in his comments section, asking him to get help immediately and to stop using Twitter. A friend of Etikah’s, streamer @TheAlicePika on Twitter, shared on Monday night that Etika is, in fact, fine and is currently “playing a game on Switch.” ( )

Etika continued tweeting, writing “RIP :(“ and “you will all burn underneath my flame.”
At 4:39 a.m. EST on Tuesday, Etika tried to send Alice home, prompting her to write “he told me he's expecting people to show up at his house and it might not be safe with me there.” She stayed in the lobby, contacting people that might “help him.”

Etika last tweeted at 5:06 a.m. EDT Tuesday., claiming he will “shoot himself in the head.” Alice also tweeted throughout Monday night and Tuesday morning as well, claiming to have “voice recordings” that can prove to doctors he is “not okay.” She then tweeted at 5:16 a.m. EDT that police arrived at Etika’s apartment building and that he was sent to the hospital (though she would not confirm where). ( )

“It was very quick,” Alice told Newsweek. Though she was still in the lobby of his building, she claims that the police arrived three minutes after she placed the call with eight officers “to restrain him” and “was placed in an ambulance on a stretcher and handcuffed.” She added, “the whole time I reminded them that he only wanted to hurt himself and no one else.”

Etika called Alice because the pair dated from 2011 to 2017 and “have been friends since” she said. He claimed he wanted to “fix” her and help her “become a god,” though she is unclear what he meant by that. “Overall, I'm just relieved I didn't go home after he kicked me out,” she said of the incident.
This is the second public suicidal outburst from Etika. In October, Etika posted on the subreddit dedicated to his work as a streamer “and now, it's my turn to die. I love you all. Keep fighting for me, ok? I'll miss yall :* make the world better for your own kids, and REMEMBER TO STARGAZE. These last 6 years have been an HONOR.” Around this same time, he uploaded large amounts of pornographic Hentai to his YouTube channel, causing it to be deleted by administrators of the video platform, and as of today he still has not gotten back. Etika’s fans freaked out on Twitter, but it seems eventually Alice was able to able to pull the content creator away from his computer and get him some help.

Any thoughts?

I personally think that he got what was coming to him. He seems too mentally ill to live without being a dependent, so it's better off in the case we're in now.

Fuck, forgot about that, so apologies.

The cynical part of me thinks that it's just another publicity stunt, there's no such thing as "bad publicity", etc. But, even someone who wanted to do that, wouldn't risk alienating their fanbase this much... right?

His behavior, and tweets are just too erratic, and unpredictable. Not like someone who's trying to do a "I'm crazy" impression. Definitely something else.

I legit think he suffers from some form of BPD.

From the little I've seen of Etika, he doesn't seem like the type who would snap at Drumpf stuff considering he's fine with edgy humor. I get TDS in people with SJW leanings but what causes it to pop up in people who aren't like that? Do they just take the news too seriously or what? How do they snap?
