Since I am typing on my kindle I can't post any links here so I will update this if I can get to my computer later.

Last night I was looking through son of the stories Chris wrote growing up when I found "Chris +Sara's" life shares that he made for her birthday. I may have read too deeply into it but in it Sara seems like some neighbor kid that Borb shoved Chris on so he could get out of the house. When he wrote about going to school for the first time he mentioned first seeing kids of other cultures and a pregnant woman for the first time.

Until he was thrown into the public school system, was Chris just left to sit around th house and watch ancient television shows all day? Maybe if he had gotten some sort of therapy in his early years things could have been much better right now, but that is a different story.

We're Barb and Bob so embarrassed about having an autistic child that they just kept him away from any type of social situation until he went to school?

Considering Chris learned how to read through the closed captioning on the TV I'd say that yes they definitely just sat his ass in front of the TV all day.

It seems like they were too old (and drunk/whatever else) to truly give a shit....add autism to that and you get the perfect storm for the legendary lolcow we know today.

There was no scenario in which Chris was going to have a normal childhood, but if he had better parents he could have had a less shitty one.

Exactly. Chris seemed to have everything going for him except for his parents. His autism seemed to have been diagnosed relatively early, he got put into speech therapy, and the Nathaniel Greene Elementary staff wanted to get him into intensive resource classes that would have equipped Chris for growing up with autism.

But . . .

well, we all know what happened. *sigh*

What social situations would he be in otherwise? I doubt Borb had friends and family around them so it was probably just the three of them for years until Borb realized mainstreaming was Socially Awesome and Cool.

His brain isn't put together properly. He was never going to have a normal childhood. Normal childhoods involving friends and the ability to speak. The fact that his parents were redneck lushes with little interest in anything but themselves was simply the icing on a cake already made of dog feces.

It did the same to me. Well that and a lack of neighbors with children to play with.

To be honest, that may have been the same with Chris, besides Borb parking his ass down in front of the TV that is.

I was kind of raised by the TV. I had ADHD and the only kid in a 6 block radius from me beat on me any and every chance he could. My parents both worked and I am an only child. My first friend wasn't until I was in the third grade. So all I had most of the time was the television. However when I was diagnosed with ADHD my parents got me the help I needed and put me in a program at my school. Because they cared and knew I would need that help to function and cope.

Chris is lucky he wasn't born in the 50's or 60's when parents like his just put their child with mental issues into a hospital and only visited them every other month or so. That was the norm for their generation when kids had mental and emotional problems. By the time Chris and I were born (we're both 1982 kids) deinstitutionalization had begun and those big hospitals were going the way of tail fins on cars and poodle skirts.

He had a normal childhood until Roach locked him in a room, his gay principle sexually molested him, he was held down and his screams were recorded, pelted with pennies with a chorus of 'SONIC IS DEAD!', lured underneath a house by a gal pal and locked under there, almost poisoned by the most poisonous of all plants; Honeysuckle, and lest we forget, had his friends wheeled and dealed rather than being TRUE and Honest.

It was everything else and not him :'( :cryblood:

Chris is the ultimate Damsel in Distress. He has more enemies and perils than Penelope Pitstop. He's just waiting, locked away in a tower by a miserly old dragon, for Prince Charming to come rescue sweet Kaka.

[theory]I think one of the problems were that Barb thought that autism meant Chris would essentially be unable to grow and improve on any tangible level and was afraid the state would take him away. When he did learn things she thought it was amazing and "proved those doctors wrong" (a sentiment shown by Chris), and so he was spoiled and coddled.

Bob, on the other hand, thought that if he treated Chris like a normal kid he would become normal. Thus all the arguments and "argumentational sparring" and the raised voices and "talking down tos".[/theory]

They were both too extreme in their reactions and, so, Chris.

That explains why he's growing his hair. He's going to let down his greasy locks over the ivory tower and up will climb an 18-Current age white female Aryan super model with a bag of q-sands. Yea and verily, the gal pal will vanquish that which imprisons Chris in the tower, an unmovable wall of flesh named Borb, and the two will live happily ever after.

That is until the quest to claim the magical Sailor Moon power discs from the evil sorceress named Megan begins *yawn* :julay:

I would say it was many things, not just Snorlax. Autism, not many kids to play with, and constant TV and vidya.

I think B&B were far more concerned with their own pride than they were with protecting their little screamer. As is usually the case with proud people, those two never had anything to actually be proud of. To this day, I think Barb would sit on high from atop her mountain of soiled garbage and pass scathing judgement on us all. It's really no wonder that Chris is so arrogant with soooooo little justification.
