Did Cville's Hobby go out of Business? (Updated 06/28/14) -

I was trying to show my roommate the current site for Cville's Hobby but the site was down. Did the Cville's Hobby go out of business? If it did, then did Chris post about it on Facebook?

Time to get this thread some closure.

Cville's Hobby is out of business for good and Michael Snyder is having financial problems which lead to legal issues most likely because of Chris running him down in the parking lot during the incident back in 2011.
6/28/14 Update

The Game Place has apparently gone out of business, and the former site of the store is now empty. It appears that the saga is now finally over for good. Please use this thread for discussion, not the update thread.

I find the whole situation really strange. Did Chris really have that much of an effect or was it because of the mediocre economy? I know the hobby shop business is tough right now because it is tough to compete with online shops and ebay. Well I hope the best for Michael Snyder.

I went to Googlemaps and it seems to confirm it. Unless they renamed themselves to "The Place". There seems to be a Staples there as well.

It's doubtful that Chris alone, as destructive as he can be, was responsible for single-handedly closing down a business that's existed for years. It's more likely that the store can't sustain financially. Or Michael Snyder has something going on in his life that precludes running the business.

It's either closed or relocated.
If it's closed, I seriously doubt it had anything to do with Chris. "Mom and Pop" type gaming places have been losing business to bigger gamer stores like GameStop/etc because they're known to hold any big time title while it can be iffy with non-chain stores.
IF they relocated, I can totally see it as Chris related. Not only does Chris keep trying to go there, weens probably call there all the time to try and get information or troll. Of course, no matter where they go, the moment they're info gets into google map or any other type of information center, they'll get calls again. So I don't think it's relocated, just closed.

Of course, Chris will find out and he will say it was because of his wishes. It'll be God's gift to him after all the stress of his house burning down.

I really don't see how weens calling everyday could have had much of an effect on the business, and nothing about Chris's infamy reflects poorly on the GAMe PLACe whatsoever. If anything it probably boosted their business slightly. If they closed, it's because they were in a pretty shitty location (that parking lot sucks to get in and out of, trust me.)

If they went under because of Chris in any way, then Mike Snyder is the worst businessman who ever lived.

Maybe i'm missing something, but being featured on the CWCki is a bad thing for people who don't want a lot of attention from strangers. (the GalPals, Megan, Mary Lee Walsh, etc...) A business absolutely wants attention from strangers. So how is being mentioned on the CWCki a bad thing for them if that article doesn't say anything negative about them?

A business absolutely wants attention from strangers. So how is being mentioned on the CWCki a bad thing for them if that article doesn't say anything negative about them?

This is the sort of negative press that looks bad on a store. Like a soccer mom could Google directions to the Game Place and assume Chris was an autistic boy that was discriminated against.
