Does anyone here remember the disney early 90s lineup? Bonkers, Tale Spin, Duck Tales and (of course) Goof Troop?

Did everyone just think it was the most radically dude ular thing since sliced bread?

I remember watching Duck Tales and Tail Spin as a kid. I always thought Goof troop was a bit crap honestly.

Not really. I remember watching stuff like Gargoyles, Freakazoid, X-Men and other hero stuff. Disney was considered pretty lame in our house.

Gargoyles was Disney though.

I was all over Chip N' Dale when it first came out. I was jealous of my best friend, who was a year younger than me, because his kindergarten released in time for him to watch it when he got home. If I was lucky I could catch the last ten minutes.

Never really got into Tale Spin or Darkwing Duck, but I did read the Disney Adventures magazine pretty often when I was a bit older. My sixth grade also took all the honor roll students to go see A Goofy Movie as a graduation present.

Well...crap. I don't know then. :| All I know is we didn't have a dedicated Disney channel and didn't actually watch anything with hugely recognizable Disney characters. Mostly because my brother was four years older than me and kind of chose what we all watched.

I actually remember watching the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes cartoon as a kid. Yes I'm really lucky like that (:_(

DuckTales was absolutely my favorite show growing up. I watched it every day and made a point to never miss an episode. I didn't care that I'd seen every episode multiple times, I loved DuckTales that much. Didn't care so much for the episodes featuring Bubba or Fenton/Gizmoduck but I'd watch them anyways. I have the theme song permanently embedded into my brain.

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers was pretty awesome too. Darkwing Duck and Goof Troop was okay, I actually prefer A Goofy Movie over the actual TV series though for some reason. Didn't care so much for TailSpin though, I thought it was too weird. I never watched Bonkers. I flat out have always disliked Adventures of the Gummi Bears, which always shocks everyone.

I watched pretty much anything Disney produced from the early 90's, but Darkwing Duck was my jam and to this day I still cannot figure out why. I received dvds of it as a gift from a family member a few years ago (mostly as a way of saying "goddamn remember when you were four years old and really annoying?") and I re-watched a season and it's alright, but I really can't figure out why I was so obsessed. My mother will never stop telling the story of how she had to call in an order for the Darkwing Duck stuffed plush "ALL THE WAY FROM DISNEY" because I wanted one so bad. I still have all the figures that came from cereal boxes (because remember when cereal boxes had cool shit in them?) and I vaguely remember having a DWD toy gun that was supposed to blow bubbles or mist or something. All I remember was that it smelled really bad.

^ As I recall Launchpad from "Duck Tales: was in Darkwing as well. I don't really remember why.

Edit: As to Duck tales, I have fond memories of that in a personal way. My uncle used to live with my grandmother when me and my two brothers would stop to visit. He'd sometimes call us Huey, Dewey and Louis!

I just saw some clips of "Goof Troop" and I get why people are just sort of "meh" about it. Goofy gets pretty obnoxious after a while.

Ironically I thought Pete was the funniest part of it. He's not evil like in a lot of his cartoons, just really abrasive and selfish. Max and PJ I liked too, ( though I guess Max is just a Bart Simpson re-color..) Too bad the whole "Goofy Movie" stuff is discontinued..

Fuckin' Launchpad. I don't know if there was a reason given for him being in Darkwing Duck and Duck Tales. He just sorta showed up in both series and that confused the shit out of me.

That always made me kind of sad, that Launchpad had quit working for Scrooge to work for Darkwing. My fiance not too long ago told me in the recent comics it was revealed that Launchpad is on loan to Darkwing whenever Scrooge doesn't need him to transport him somewhere. Too bad I don't recall them ever explaining this in the show.

Then again I can recall only DuckTales having it's introductory story in the first five episodes. Rescue Rangers and TailSpin (and presumably Darkwing Duck and Goof Troop as well) had theirs in the middle of their series' and that's just confusing as hell. Either explain who these characters are and why they work together/form a team/live in X city/whatever when you start the show or don't.

As to Scrooge McDuck, I think if a person tried to jump from a diving board into a pool of gold coins, the end result would be some badly broken bones.

Here's my issue - he's insanely rich, why the hell does have have a vault filled with gold coins that's several stories high?

Rich people don't get rich by having a lot of money around. They diversify and invest. Warren Buffet might have billions of dollars but it's not like he has some pool where all his money is that he goes swimming in (though he could have a pool like that, but it probably wouldn't have ALL his money). Rather it's tied up in stocks, bonds, and in actual banks collecting interest.

What I'm saying is Scrooge could maybe have an Olympic sized swimming pool of gold coins and the rest he can invest in to make him even richer.

I remember that I used to watch Duck Tales and that one show with Timon and Pumba all the time as a kid. Sadly, I'm pretty sure they were all reruns. I also don't remember much about them, other than Herculeas having a cameo in the Lion King show (possibly), and the time I puked in my Kraft Dinner while watching it, and continued to eat it. Other than that, it's all a blur.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that in the comics (at least some comics) it's mentioned that the bulk of Scrooge's wealth is invested in banks and stocks and such and that the three cubic acres of cash in the Money Bin is the treasures he feels especially fond of, and doesn't fit in banks and such.

...Why the hell do I know this.
