I would say it's pretentiousness versus unpretentiousness.

Europe has long been a very pretentious culture, which is why it's in the state it's in today, meanwhile the USA and it's lack of pretention is why we Got Shit Done for so long, although we're falling prey to our own strain of pretention, but there's also more serious pushback happening here than in Europe.

I mean it really does go back to the founding of the USA, rather than getting caught up in the grandiosity of being part of some globe spanning monarchist empire, people here looked around and said "what the big fucking deal?" and decided to focus on what was best for the people here and not what was best for the global empire.

The USA has always been a very no bullshit, put up or shut up culture, which is why there's so much friction in this modern world of a sea of pretentious bullshit.

So in other words, USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!

But that became really muddled once the movies came out where pirates were the heroes, so people retroactively think the ride is condoning the pirates behavior, instead of matter of factly depicting the kind of stuff pirates would get up to back in the day, not necessarily.

What the hell? What is that from? Taking other people's property is the literal definition of piracy!

This is an old issue though, kids wanting to idolize pirates, I remember I saw a direct to video kids movie once in the 90s, it was called Magic Island, where these pirate type characters, according to the movie, are "buccaneers" who are not "pirates", they're just people looking for adventure on the high seas, a group of pirates including Blackbeard are actually the villains in the movie, but in reality buccaneer and pirate meant the same thing.

But this is one of those things were people need to just lighten up, pirates of the Caribbean were hundreds of years ago, no kid's gonna grab a cutlass and hop on a wooden ship and try to steal shit for real, it's just harmless fantasy, it reminds me of this clip from some fundies I saw on the internet recorded in the late 80s or early 90s where a guy complains about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because "ninjas were assassins, they were bad people" and it's like dude, do you think kids are going to try become NINJAS for real? Again, we're talking something from history long ago with no real relevance to the modern world, it's entirely harmless for kids to pretend to be pirates and ninjas, horseshoe theory strikes again.

Same deal with something like cowboys and Indians and other kids stuff that buttpains scolds.

It's especially disingenuous in the case of the left though because they'll get mad about 1600s pirates but encourage 21st century gangsta rap glamorizing the thug life, something that is happening now kids can idolize and grow up to really be.

Although what's funny is I can imagine 400 years in the future where kids are running around in bandanas and with plastic Tec-9 toys pretending to bust caps in asses to get their crack back when that specific criminal culture might be something of the past.

That's true, but employees in the company complained, I bet many of them had dyed hair and that's just how the world works now, Woke employees get what they want and the actual customers can just go fuck themselves.

We've seen this also with Marvel, which is of course also just Disney, this is the climate in corporate America now, nobody wants to tell the fat chick with dyed hair "no" so they get to ruin everything for everybody.

You misunderstood me if you thought I was saying customers complained, of course they didn't, these changes are brought to us by Woke employees and the pressure they put within the company, if anything customers want the opposite, but corporations no longer care about what customers actually want, see also Gillette and a billion other examples.

I can guarantee you that's what happened, fat chick dyed hair diversity hires whined about "muh rape culture" and because you can't just tell these assholes to fuck off or you'll be the one who gets fired everything has to please them and nobody else.

Basically what has happened now is Disney no longer gives a single shit about what Walt Disney himself would have done whereas they used to care about that within reasonable levels but not anymore, they'll probably wind up demolishing the entire fucking castle parks because "muh Eurocentrism" and replace them with Wakandaland.

I'm not joking either, like I said earlier in the thread they'll destroy those parks piece by piece as they gradually realize more and more Disneyland and Magic Kingdom are great big odes to white people and "white culture" and we can't have that, so into the trash it goes, because it never stops at one thing with these people, it keeps going, they keep doubling down and tripling down until they absolutely ruin something like they have Marvel comics.

To go beyond just Disney, it's terrifying as hell when you take the Woke mindset to it's logical endpoint, the argument could be made that the very sight of a white person is so triggering to people of color (who matter more than white people) that we need a Final Solution of wiping white people off the face of the Earth so those strong kings and queens never have to be bothered by the sight of our inferior whiteness ever again, Wakanda foreva!

Sure, that's crazy, but it can only happen if people don't stand up and say "no" and that's why it's important to put our foots down now, because if no one ever tells these people "no" that's where it's going to go, it's just a matter of time.

Again, I know that's crazy, but we've already seen that these people don't like to be told "no", they want what they want and that's supposed to be all there is to it, so why would they ever stop asking for more and more until they've asked for everything if no one ever tells them no?
