There is an issue with thinking sticking a women into every game just to have that woman be their and not develop that woman as a character she exists as a catalyst to make a vain point and this point only makes sense to the people who "created" her. A truly historically-accurate WW2 experience wouldn’t make a ‘fun’ video game. That game would give you one life, delete itself after you died, and you would be forced to play it. It’s a period of history that’s impossible to respectfully recreate without any caveats. If that was where the real issue was, people would be up in arms about any game that tried to create a virtual rendition of the conflict, not just the one where you can play as a woman.

This cutscene plays before (or after?) a level in Medal of Honor Frontline. The game itself looks abit silly nowadays but back then it was a memorable experience.

I think part of why the following level is memorable is because the devs tried to make you feel as though you were in the history. The situation is desperate and chaotic and they tried to represent that despite your character basically being a CIA agent that can absorb bullets. Pretty much all those old Medal of Honor games had you playing as a spy but they told good stories that fit within the history. Everything fit the setting despite how insane it all was because they were basing everything off of real organizations, real people and real history.

I doubt it would have had that same feeling with ham-fisted diversity. You know, the kinda stuff that reminds me that I'm playing a design by committee game made mostly by retarded people with a retarded ideology.

How about instead of shoving women into armies they should tell the stories of actual resistance movements that included women? The French Resistance and the Yugoslav Partisans all included women (and even children!) because they were just that, smaller guerrilla movements that needed to rely on something other than Shooty McShootersens to fight against the enemy in an occupied territory.

You want diversity? Make a mission where you play as a 14 year old courier who traverses a forest avoiding German troops to deliver messages to a Yugoslav troop using his wits. Exactly this. It's not about actually playing as diverse characters - there's many games out there where you can play as whatever special snowflake you want, after all, and even enough where you are playing as a woman/POC/whatever rather than creating your own.

No, it's about them wanting to make you play as whatever they say, 'for your own good'. If something is popular, it has to not just appeal to them, but actively pander to their wishes.
