Do _you_ listen to Podcasts? Taking suggestions -

I've been told like a dozen times this week that I should start a podcast so I'm listening to ideas for what people would want to hear should I choose to do this.

My idea would be to take a friend I have who knows nothing about lolcows and go over a list of recent topics. It would be prerec and then edited for time and quality before being published. I was thinking every other wednesday to allow enough content to talk about.

Discuss.

A true outsider's take on what we consider to be lolcows would be interesting. Are they interested in it? Do they see the lulz of it all? What's their morality standing of it?

I wouldn't start immediately with the troons, either. Need to go "softer", let the understanding of a lolcow build up. Just some of the Misty Rays of the forum or Nail and the Parlor. Simple and easy to understand ones as to why this website documents everything.

And theeennn you bombard them with Phil's no-dick pics.

Two people doesn't sound like enough, but I like the idea of having a co-host who knows nothing about cows. A 3-4 person team would probably be best, with you and your friend as the main hosts and 1-2 other people there as support. A good support person would be a user with an extensive background in lolcows who could fill in the blanks on different cows discussed, sorta like a historian. Another would be someone who is experienced with podcasts and could be sorta like a content manager who could give cues to move things along.

Another idea would be to have pre-defined portions of the podcast. This contributes to engagement because the listener may develop a preference for one part of the show. Examples could be "This week in cow history" where significant events in lolcow history for that week could be discussed, "Cow of the week" where you choose a popular cow who may or may not be hot at that time, but who has a good deal of material and discuss that cow, "Lolcow Updates" where you talk about stuff that had happened in the prior few weeks, or a part where you basically interview users who have contributed a lot to the site and who know cows well.

The F Plus is a good model for the type of podcast you'd like to produce. They're like a podcast version of KF. From what I can tell, they have a pre-made document centered around a specific topic (ex: inflation) and they pick and choose from that. I'd definitely listen to a podcast from you. Maybe the first episodes could be a pseudo omnibus about Chris, maybe with @Marvin to help facilitate things, if he's willing. To "get into" Christory nowadays is a big task, considering there's over 10 years of autism.

Hell, even Turtleboy that covers the East Coast is something like a washed down version of KF that focuses strictly on local lolcows in the Mass area.

There's a ton of content on this website to make good tape. I think a variety show would be best so you don't limit what you're able to do, but still keep it lolcow/Gossip oriented. Dunno if Squarespace or Blue Apron is gunna be willing to sponsor though. :story:

I'd evn try to get a lolcow every week or two to come on the show, just to talk.
I can only think of a handful that could possibly do that and they wouldn't be that interesting. You don't wanna sit there and listen to strikerwolf huffing and puffing or Donny Long screeching about Eddie D for a half hour.

Just the Dick Show.

I used to listen to Nightvale but then the 2nd season was just an inclusionist power fantasy cranked to 11 without any of the interesting subliminal horror shit that made the first season great.

I wish I could find another decent horror podcast that isn't just people giggling about Babayaga and Cthulu

I would say presenting lolcows like mythological monsters would be pretty fun to listent o but would probably cause a law suit

I really like Last Podcast On The Left. Definitely worth a listen if you enjoy true crime, stories about cults, and conspiracy nonsense. There's a lot of goofing around to keep it entertaining, but they really do their homework on each topic.

A talented enough internet broadcaster could probably cover lolcows using a similar format.
