irl Hedgehogs have fur on their face, legs and belly while they have quills of their back. I always assumed regular Sonic was the same way so I guess Sonichu would be to?

I think they have fur those it could be so tightly glued together that it would just look like skin.

This is an interesting question, I'd have to say probably fur on most their bodies and maybe a couple quills to form the look of Sonic. Sort of like an animal mullet but like, pickachu fur upfront, painful spikes in the back, party all around?
