Sonichu Do you have a favorite Sonichu character? -

I know, I know, the topic seems hard to discuss given the nature of Sonichu. But are there any characters that stand out for you, good or bad? Any reason why that is? Do you see any characters that had potential to be decent if someone other than Chris wrote them?

Despite what Chris intended, I think my favourite is Magi-Chan -- Chris actually created a character with a lot of potential, even if he wasted it making sure Magi-Chan made sure no gays were in Cwcville. Not to mention a lot of the times he seems to be above a lot of the crap that the rest of the Chaotic Combo go through, like he doesn't care. Sure, Chris said that he would eventually wind up with Silvana, so he's not totally immune, but the concept of an all-knowing character has a lot of potential. In that case, it doesn't seem surprising that Magi-Chan seemed to be the focus of a lot of troll-fic, at least from what U saw. Sadly, I can't find a lot of it now, but there was one good one that really went into depth on Magi-Chan and his life (something about him falling for another Rosechu, but wound up being framed for her murder? The details are really hazy.)

Sandy also has potential, though not in a way Chris intended (he doesn't realize it, but the way he wrote he is just perfect for a psychopath in the making). In that vein, Wild and his sense of loss could be turned into something horrifying/tragic in someone else's hands.

Sonichu and Rosechu themselves...I don't know, to me they both seem rather bland. I can't really see much with them, since they're basically designed to be together and serve Chris, and not much else. Then again, I've yet to get through all of Sonichu, so maybe there's something in later issues I haven't picked up on.

I know that it seems a little pointless to talk about what could be done with the characters, but I think there are ideas there -- little ones -- that Chris doesn't pick up on, but we would. Consider it an alternate interpretation.

Anyone have any other thoughts?

Silvana, an outcast from CWCville society for nothing that's her own fault -- her extra, functional genitals added by the evil of Graduon -- acts out against society, obeying orders, because she grew up on the motherfucking Moon and has none of the normal social ties that she could have had. Her desperation for acceptance, and to feel what a normal relationship is like, leads her to horrible crimes -- the rape-by-deception of Blake and the near-assault of Bubbles by the same means. Can she ever learn to accept herself for who she is, whether or not Graduon ever removes her functional penis? Indeed, will she decide it's a key part of her identity and refuse to let her be removed? Is there any room for the intersexed Silvana in the rigidly heterosupremacist society of CWCville, which suffered so many mind intrusions by Magi-Chan -- the only Sonichu Silvana seems to see as anything approaching a kindred spirit?

Couldn't phrase it any better.

Probably Wild. I see him as a truly tragic character who's caught up in a world he just doesn't understand. He was raised apart from civilization in the jungle, a much simpler life, and unlike Bubbles and Magi-chan he doesn't really buy fully into CWCville. Despite apparently being the leader of the Chaotic Combo, he doesn't ever seem to be around unless Chris specifically orders him to be, meaning he probably spends most of his time in the forest where he's the most comfortable. Everything just confuses and overwhelms him too much.

Finally he's shoved into Date Ed where he does fall in love with a similar spirit who loves nature, but she's still part of the city and he knocks her up almost immediately (no condoms in the jungle). She's quickly killed, leaving him with a child he doesn't really know how to raise and he ends up being manipulated by Chris and his rage to train her as a weapon. But after that purpose is served, Chris and his city aren't going to be there to raise her. He's on his own again.

Wow, a few of these posts are deeper than I could ever explain.

My favorites would be Magi-chan, Sandy, and Silvana.

Magi-chan: He has omnipotent powers and is a key part of the Chaotic Combo, yet he does minimal effort to help the team. With such powerful psychic abilities, he could probably take care of CWCville all by himself. Right there shows that he may be the only Sonichu to resist Chris' wants and desires. Heck, I can imagine him usurping Chris as mayor.

Sandy: The post earlier in this thread said it best. She has so much potential to be the next villain to attack CWCville, not to mention the tension between her and her father Wild.

Silvana: Silvana is a breath of fresh air compared to the other Rosechus. She's also the only one that many people could relate to.

Agreed. Wild is one of my favourite characters, with Magi-Chan being a close runner up.

It's funny to see all the commonalities in your answers! I think it goes to show you that Chris can create very interesting minor characters, while the main ones are about as bland as cardboard.

I also second the Silvana mention, since she's pretty unusual for a Rosechu, and very relatable because of it.

Magi-Chan, because he secretly hates Chris. He could easily solve all of problems but instead he just teleports everyone then goes back to jacking off to gay men having sex and then reporting them to the police.
Fixed that for ya.

That's an interesting point. Some of the Sonichus/Rosechus and other characters eventually get normal human first names -- Blake, Angelica, Reginald (both Chris's pretend son and R. Sneasel) or PandaHalo's (RIP) Chloe. But then Chloe is stuck with BlazeBob as a sidekick, and Angelica has to work with guys called Wild and Punchy. "Lolisa" is just too horrible to contemplate unless you're a pedofork, and her boyfriend "Jamsta," give me a break. At least Ivy bargained "Daisy" (what Chris wanted to call her) down to "Layla," which is nice for those of us old enough to remember the song. And "Bionic" for the name of a character who is not a cyborg in any way (luckily, Alec fixed that) is just ridiculous.

This kinda makes sense in that many were created/raised by humans (though damn, Punchy is a mean name to give a person). I think Lolisa and Jamsta must have lived with humans; they consistently wear clothes and work with audio equipment. They were probably raised by coked out old hippies or something. Some Pokemon would also have human trainers that named them.

But what the fuck is up with most Pokemon being normal and some of them being anthros who wear clothes and live in apartments, and yet others being able to talk but still living in Pokeballs?

Well said! Wild is also my favorite Chaotic Combo character for reasons stated. He lost his father, his forced wife and now he's stuck as a single dad with a traumatized child.
