Do you think people are evil enough to murder one guy to save many others who did great wrongs? -

This thought has been bothering me. Do you think people are evil enough, people who talk about equality, the value of human life, all people are made in God's image and all that, do you think people would openly advocate murder or even subtle or direct psychological acts, even mental and emotional torture to cover up a massive amount of evils done?

It's true in history there's probably been countless stories of people murdering someone to cover their tracks, but do you believe that people, no matter how much they protest otherwise to being "good people," would allow someone to be tortured and murdered to cover their own crimes, sins, whatever you want to call them, as well as others?

I don't know if this would be classified under that weirdo thing called "gangstalking" or the more plausible thing of gaslighting, or bullying, or just being a group of scummy evil people, but it's been bothering me lately. If you believe the Bible literally the second story of humanity is of one brother killing another because the bitch didn't want to take responsibility for his own actions (Cain / Able thing.) And we do see certain segments of society who show these signs of evil thinking. (Fat chicks who blame others, certain... ethnicities who are under performing and believe they have a right to burn down cities and make others pay for their own life's screw-ups, illegals crossing the border and doing all sorts of nasty crap, etc.)

Do you believe people, no matter what they protest to otherwise, would stay by or even participate in cold blooded murder to cover their own asses?

I don't think humanity has changed, no matter how many thousands or hundreds of thousands of years one many believe we've been on the planet. I think people would talk about the sanctity of life and right in one breath and watch someone die in the next as long as it wasn't in their own back yard.

What do you think?

This is a dour topic for me, but I've been worried about A-logging type individuals and various stories in the news the last few years.

Well, there was this guy named Jesus once who said we should be nicer to each other.

All of the virtue signalling is just a facade, when push comes to shove people resort to their animal instincts. See, their morals, their code... it's a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you, when the chips are down, these... these civilized people? They'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster, I'm just ahead of the curve.

Yeah people are that evil to do that, mostly because they want to be good people. It's gotten to the point of competition now on how to be a good person entirely. Instead of thinking on the fact that they are doing a good thing to help one another. They just do it for popularity, so yes.

Executing the innocent scapegoat because we are a bunch of a-logs was sort of the preoccupying story of our civilization for a, uh.... long time.

You've got to remember not everyone shares your morals or even has the mental ability to feel empathy, a psychopathic murderer for example would kill people so they didn't get caught without thinking twice about it.

This I think is the basic explanation for the SJW phenomenon. Back when the civil rights movement was a nascent thing, people paid dearly for advocating for the things they believed in, and that kept them honest.

Anyway in response to the OP, the human capacity for violence has been pretty thoroughly researched and documented, and yeah, it turns out the average person is capable of being pretty goddamned evil given the right motivations. Of course, people are capable of some pretty incredible feats of cooperation during times of crisis too, so we're not fundamentally bad. I think an important part of maturing is recognizing that you are capable of some pretty extreme violence, and that that capability exists for a reason. Believing yourself to be harmless is very dangerous because you if you honestly think you can't hurt anyone, you might do a great deal of harm without even intending to.

As a side note, I think the reason that Christianity is such a force to be reckoned with is that it is a system that is very good at promoting cooperative behavior. There are a lot of cultural assumptions that we in the West have only because of the Christian tradition. Now that God is dead, our day in the sun is over. Liberalism certainly will not work in favor of a bunch of feckless materialists.

I can't speak for other people. I mean if you go back in history USSR, NAZI germany, khmer rouge then these things happen and people are compleled to commit murder.

This is the reason I own guns and support the second amendment.

You can't force me to murder someone when I'm armed and that's all there is to it.
