I'll start us off with my based cynical and nihilistic insight on the topic:

We, as human beings, are carbon-based bodies of flesh and bones, [apparently] with the biological and significant function to reproduce, second to that of our general survival and living physical existence. More often than not, our usually [and unfortunately] long lives are fraught with many strange and interesting experiences. However, despite whatever instrumental value one can place on anything they have lived through, it is ultimately a fruitless endeavor, as it will, more often than not, prove to be nothing more than absolutely nothing—not even a footnote to be cited in the annals of history.

Thus, the topic at hand. Kids [apparently], and the processes of bearing and raising them have long been held as both a prevalent and pertinent experience for their parents. But, why become the [ultimately nothing] parent of a more than likely, nothing child? Why, as a woman, would you undergo a childbearing process (that runs the chance of ending your life) just to produce and be a mother to what is likely to be, a nothing child? The same applies to fathers, and parents as a whole; why would you expend your time, and essentially, a large portion of your life dedicated to the overall amelioration of nothing offspring?

The short of this: "You're likely to be a nothing, so why subject yourself to the function of reproduction in what is literally an actual irl lottery?"

That aside, share your thoughts on this matter, autist. Perhaps you'll elucidate us with positive notions, or ones that run same course of negativity as the opening take above.

As for me, I'd love to someday settle down and raise some children. While it will obviously be a challenge and in spite of whatever antinatalism rhetoric is expressed, my life's my life, and such is an important aspect of it.

Antinatalists are nihilist retards who had a shit life and now believe that everyone else's life must be as shit as theirs and therefore everyone's suffering must be relieved by never existing to begin with. You made nothing of yourself, so you think no one can make anything of themselves, so you don't think anyone should have the chance to exist and make anything of themselves.

r/antinatalism is the most cancerous hive of autism on the internet. Antinatalists should set a good example and kill themselves.

My worldview about procreation mainly comes from David Benatar and his book Better Never to Have Been. He also debated Jordan Peterson and Sam Harris (and humiliated them dare I say) so I dont think I can add anything unique to his antinatalism

Every time I consider having a kid the reasons I would want to are selfish. Like having someone to take care of me later in life, not dying alone/ having someone worthy of giving all my expensive shit to. And with what I see as a decline of individual freedom and opportunity for true independence in the world today . I just can't see myself having them.

Would it be naive of me to think I could rectify some of the mistakes my parents made? I wish to have some but I do worry about the future and what kind of world their going to be born into. Also after not having had children with my ex I'm getting a little long in the tooth and don't want to be in my 60's when my kids reach adulthood. Still the urge is there.

We're biological beings who have an innate drive for self preservation and socialization, which are intimately tied with the drive to procreate. To untangle the mess of human drives and neatly explain exactly why we do everything we do would take volumes, and ultimately would probably just lead to more nihilism. I think the more we become meta-aware as a species the more nihilistic we are, which is part of the reason the "I hecking love science" crowd are a bunch of depressed faggots (despite their actual lack of scientific rigor).

No, I do not want children.

The responsibility and personal history would be too much to bear with a child around.

Everyone's either a merchant, a nihilist, or both today. I would teach my child manners and values that would conflict with every experience he would have with other people. He'd be isolated from a world that cares little for values. It would only be natural for him to adjust by sloughing off much of it, becoming a variant of everyone else. I know that's all very wE liVe iN a soOciEty but I find myself and everyone I know doing the same thing. We all detest the standard of living and so opt to "get enough money then get out" or carve out some dark corner in close enough distance to leech enough to survive. If I had a child, it would be in an isolated evangelical backwater cut off from the broader world where community still matters and people have near-tribal affiliations, meaning they care who their neighbor's neighbor's cousin is. A kid could learn about nature and general companionship with others. He wouldn't come out the other end wondering why every lesson conflicts with his experience.

I don't know a parent that's said they didn't make mistakes. I don't doubt you have other motivations but if it's solely to perfect the recipe I'd lean towards naiveté because you're going to fuck up. You'll just fuck up differently.

Ya I should've worded that a little differently, that's not my sole motivation for wanting kids. Sometimes it does weigh on my mind heavily when I think about having kids.

Yes.

White kids in the backwoods of Wyoming so I can train them to be National Socialist Shock Troopers of the Fourth Reich.

Jokes aside, yeah but I dunno. I just wanna raise them right, not have them be the shitty little cancer puppies you see everywhere nowadays, definitely not shelter them by any means aside from legit giving them a roof over their head until it's time to leave the nest, and probably reserve some usernames for them on KF.

I'm also probably gonna make a thread when they eventually bring home their friends from school which include Nick (Named after Nick Fuentes), the son of hardcore MAGA supporters that are supporting Trump's write-in in 2032 and beyond and watch only OAN while being some of Mike Lindell's first investors when he goes public with MyPillow; Daenerys T'Challa Bucky Stark Braunblatstein, the insufferable LGBTQIABPX$%++ MtF tranny TikTok.cn superstar that was raised by the biggest cuck of a father ever, Maurice Braunblatstein (nee Taylor) that just gets walked over and is ghost writing the entirety of Winds of Winter after GRRM had a violent diarrhea death and now can't get over the fact that it wasn't finished and nobody has given the slightest sliver of a shit about it in years, and Angela Braunblatstein the third wave feminist cunt that gets blacked on a near daily basis while working feverishly as the last writer of Buzzfeed to fund her frequent trips to the abortion clinic and pay off the Dr. to keep quiet about the fact that she aborts biracial babies only; finally there's Siegfried von Sonnenfaust the SIEGE lad who was raised out in the middle of buttfuck nowhere and bred to be the supersoldier Atomwaffen needs to achieve total nigger death by 2088, which amounted to being homeschooled on Telegram, forced to memorize scripture from Siege as if it was the Koran, fed MREs from age 4, forced to listen to ONLY Wagner, trained to field strip his dad's semi-auto AKM designed to only use 10 round magazines chambered for .22 LR ammo, and eventually caving his biological father's skull in with a ballpeen hammer during a heated domestic dispute thus nullifying his father's 1,488 page manifesto about how proud he would be when his son finally challenged him in a duel to the death. His mother is also the fed of the family.
