This is a fair point. It is maybe going a little far to say that he's likable. He's maybe not as detestable as he is made out to be though.

As for his likeablility, I would say back in the classic Chris day he was likeable. He's still entertaining today, but his life revolves around his anger. While it does look like he bounces back from girlfriends, his issues with Megan, a real female who interacted with him, shows he didn't get over it.

He no longer writes lame stories or makes horrible jokes are is cocky because of his fame. Every contact he makes with the outside world is one of anger and resentment. As he is now, he isn't likeable. This is part of why he is miserable.

I don't see why bringing up the fact that some trolls were jerks has any meaning to why Chris isn't a good guy. They may have hasted his life path, but Chris was always going to end up this way because of his unreasonable life expectations.

I agree that Chris was much more likable in the past. Most of my defenses of Chris are based on my perception of "Classic Chris". I think the way he has treated Michael Snyder is the worst thing about him, and that is a recent thing. I still think he's not as bad as people make him out to be on here though.

I disagree that Chris was always going to end up this way. He was always going to be a clown, but a fundamental distrust of all humanity is definitely a direct result of his experiences at the MANOS of the trolls.

His distrust in humanity hasn't really made his life much different though. With or without the trolls, he would still be a shut in who gets little social interaction, and fucks up the bit he does get.

With or without trolls, he would still hate gays and men in general because they are preventing him from getting a girlfriend. He would still be suck at home with barb all day long as miserable. He still would be angry and bitter at Megan and the game place, but he still would have been banned for his poor behavior. He would still be getting banned from places like Walmart. Writing "hexbox" with a marker and vandalising DVDs because he saw men's pecs has nothing to do with the trolls.

Pretty much all his crazed and angry behavior has to do with his real life actions coming back to bite him. Chris just likes to blame the trolls rather than admit he did in fact do something wrong.

If anything he'd be more bitter and hateful of people in real life because he'd need to find a new villain for his life problems, which would be people who live locally to him. Now, I am not saying that what the trolls did to Chris was ok or not mean. It was. I am saying Chris would still be pretty much the hate filled person he is today because all his current life problems have nothing to do with trolls.

Yeah I agree. I actually mentioned She Came For CWC in the OP as a specifically fucked up thing that he did. I don't think it was THAT bad though. I mean it was pretty bad, but he wasn't TRYING to hurt anyone. For me, that is the difference. The intent is important in moral issues. That's why I think the people who deliberately set out to hurt him are worse.

I don't think this is fair, or true. One example is Scarlett, the girl who was on his "big night out" with him. He didn't try to molest her, and he was drunk then too. I'm sure there are countless others, like his high school gal pals. As patient as they no doubt were, kindly putting up with the weird kid, I doubt their patience would extend to molestation.

Actually, no. She and Liquid are my close friends IRL. They got married in July and are quite happy and successful in their life. Chris is the only miserable one in this saga. Well, and you, Anna. I'm sure being a mental shut-in isn't fun.
