Does anyone remember that one episode of Tucker (2000) with Seth Green? - The one where a twenty-something Seth is dating a 13/14 year old girl?

Tucker was an American sitcom that aired on NBC/Nickelodeon in the early 2000s. It was about a boy named Tucker (who is about 13) that moves to a new town, lives with his aunt's dysfunctional family, Tucker is a skateboarder, blah blah blah.

The weird memory that popped into my head was one episode called "Seth Green With Envy". There was a recurring theme in the show where Tucker would lust after the girl next door who is also in his class. As it turns out though she's in a relationship with Seth Green (not even a character, Seth Green actually plays himself and references movies he's acted in like Austin Powers).

Anyway, Tucker sneaks into the neighbour girl's room and Seth is there, and Tucker asks Seth whether he thinks he's too old for her (bear in mind Seth is in his mid twenties at this time). Seth's response is to go on this spiel about how the girl's mother doesn't believe in biological age and just in maturity and compatibility and how he's going to wait until she's 18 until they get married to have sex even though she really wants to do it now.

I wondered if I was remembering correctly and sure enough. https://youtu.be/YqITOrxrmq4?t=441

Maybe Sam Hyde was right about all those Adult Swim guys...

Not really a great thread I suppose but I had to get that off my chest since I couldn't find anything on the internet about this. It's not that big a deal but it does make me remember some weird sexual subtext I can recall from a lot of the children's shows I watched back then. It was aired on Nickelodeon so no surprises there I guess.

So did anyone else watch this show? One last thing, it used to annoy me that these skater kids would carry around immaculate skateboards without a scratch that had clearly never been used before. P.S. Apparently the guy from Devo composed the music for the show.

I vaguely remember Bill Murray dated Sarah Jessica Parker in an episode of Square Pegs...or something. He was her substitute teacher.............

I don't remember this show at all, are you sure it aired on Nick in the US?

That is pretty weird but to be fair, I think it's just meant to be a joke, that was almost 20 years ago and a veeeeeeery different time for American culture.

There was a lot of weird adult humor on those Nick shows though, remember that episode where Rocko's neighbors all watch a video of him naked?

If nothing else the year 2000 look of everything in that clip is very nostalgic, thanks for sharing.

I have never heard of this show. Why would you make a sex comedy with preteens? The boy could be in a random Disney Channel movie. Dan Schneider was less direct.

The girl was 20 when this show was made. Knowing that makes the leering ass shot less creepy but still uncomfortable given a bunch of old dudes decided that. I don't know why Seth Green would play some pedo.

I think it only aired on Nick in Europe and on NBC in the U.S. and it only had a very short run. It's pretty obscure and the only reason I remember it is because I was young, impressionable and into skateboarding at the time.

The show was pretty fair-to-middling but remembering it makes me feel slightly nostalgic. They often had the characters wearing band shirts like Black Flag or NOFX.

I remember another episode where Tucker's mom goes on a date at a crazy golf place and Tucker watches as the guy lifts up his Mom's dress with the putter. I haven't actually looked up that clip so I'm going on a 19 year old memory but the guy may have made eye contact with Tucker as he does this, like "Hell yeah, I'm tapping that". Might have to look that up...

Anyway yeah it's weird Seth would be like "Sure I'll play myself dating an underage girl" and also since it was a show aimed at children and younger teens it gives off a strange vibe like "Oh yeah Seth Green is so cool he's been in all these movies AND he dates underage girls and says it's okay, so it must be okay".

That makes perfect sense, there's no way a Nick show would have been that racy in the US, I don't think the world "sex" would even be uttered and if it had aired in 2000 I would have in some way vaguely remembered it, since I watched Nick allllll the time, but never watched NBC.

Heck, 2000 was when Nick aired the infamous "Crybaby Lane" TV movie, which I watched and later discovered was the subject of a creepypasta about Nick's "forgotten horror film"

So if I remembered that I'm sure I'd have remembered this.
