Does Chris know that there never were any real Sonichu fans? -

I know that the Chris now is very different from a few years ago. He's more depressed and he doesn't make comics anymore. He has sort of wised up and is more weary of trolling. He also realises that a lot of his past sweethearts were trolls. But does he realise that ALL of his so-called fans were trolls? The fact that he thought people actually liked his comic in the first place says a lot about his state of mind, so perhaps he still thinks that some people actually liked Sonichu. Is there any evidence to suggest he knows that the ENTIRE "Sonichu fan-base" were having a laugh at him?

On a related note... he realises that some of his sweethearts were trolls- most obviously Julie- but does he realise that ALL of them- including IVY and Kacey- were all trolls? Any evidence either way?

It's the same as his past fake girlfriends. He believes they were real women and celebrities when it suits him and he believes that they were trolls who betrayed him when it suits him. He must have something very very wrong with his brain if his mind doesn't have a problem with contradicting itself so much.

As far as his fanbase goes, I think Chris himself said that he can't tell the difference between the TRUE and HONEST fans and the trolls. I guess you could see that as an example of Chris wising up to the tricks people have been pulling on him, but in my opinion, it's just an instinctive reaction to the unpleasantness of being trolled. He either can't or doesn't want to try honestly distinguishing real people from his detractors any more, so he's ended up withdrawing.

No he thinks there were a grand number of true fans. I believe I remember a Facebook post where he admonished the fans for not fighting the trolls for him. Therefore, depriving them of his illustrated masterpieces.

Yeah, at this point, Chris has gotten so bitter and misanthropic that it wouldn't matter if he believed the "fans" were real or not. If he's figured out they're fake, it reaffirms how much his life sucks. And even if he still believes they were real, he obviously doesn't give a shit about them anymore.

I'm sure there was a time way back when that Chris actually believed he had somewhere to the tune to a billion fans--now, I don't think he ever /literally/ believed had that number of fans, but I think for him that number was more of a rough estimate which his ego was satisfied in believing. Overall, I'm under the impression that his conception of having a billion plus fans is more of a product of him being bad with numbers and being incredibly sheltered more than anything else (after all, this is coming from the guy who doesn't know what half of 360 is). I could see Chris as being the kind of person who would sit back and imagine his "fanbase" as being rows upon rows of cheering people as far as the eye could see--but while that would never come close to representing 1/7th of the earth's population, I could see how Chris would erroneously sum that up to about a billion people.

I think the greatest irony about the whole fanbase thing, though, is how he managed to detract the only genuine fan he ever had--Sonichuizcool--by being too quick to assume she was on the bad side.

In terms of him thinking he has a fanbase now? Nah, I seriously doubt it, especially since he hasn't been onto the Sonichu comics in ages. If anything, I think
instead of saying he has 1 billion plus fans, I think he would now be more in the position to say there is a legion of 1 billion plus trolls after him. Given the astronomical levels of paranoia he displays nowadays, I don't think it's out of the question to propose that he'd eventually say something like this.

He doesn't necessarily maintain the same beliefs now that he did back during the trolling.

But yeah, I think it's probably how Tubular Monkey put it. He doesn't really think much about the topic unless he's specifically talking about the subject right now. And he'll tell conflicting stories at different times. If it's believable right at this moment, he'll have no problem believing what he's saying. He just doesn't think too hard about it.

Now in general, considering how depressed he is nowadays, he might go with the "all the fans were trolls" story a lot more frequently nowadays than he would back in the heyday of the trolling.

But I'm not so sure he has even the closest idea of what the current world population is. If you asked him, I think he might swing as low as ten million, or as high as 100 billion plus.

Yeah, I could see Chris as having made the one billion plus claim not as a proposition that 1/7th of the earth's population actually likes him, but because he 'clicked' with the number out of some childlike stream of logic--i.e., "I've heard people in the past say a billion to express a really big number of things, and because it's a simple way to get out of having to concretely define something and it sounds cool, I think I'll use it to describe my fanbase!"

I think, for the sake of transparency, I should state for the record that I only became interested in Chris at all because I actually genuinely DID like Sonichu. Not like how I like Game of Thrones, or anything, but more in a "This is one of the most absurdly unintentionally hilarious things I've ever seen," sort of way. I enjoyed reading them, and then by the time it spiraled into madness, I had been exposed to other aspects of Chris that keep me here today.

It's the source of many great images and pieces of dialogue that made me laugh and smile, and isn't that really what the whole point was? If that doesn't make me a Sonichu fan, I don't know what would.

CWC's reaction to this mentally disadvantaged Englishman is rightly described as a remorse killer. But there is more to it than that; several fans probably turned White Knight and I suspect that had he taken some of their advice they'd be a hard core of fans. There are probably many more trolls than White Knights, but there would still be a non-trivial percantage that didn't mean him any harm.

As for Sweethearts: Megan was real, the Wallflower was real and Faeyrn was real. They may have devolved into troll status, but he had at least a shadow of an echo of a nibble of a longshot to potentially make it work, even if the odds were millions to 1 against. Chris has a better chance of getting a GF than I do of winning the lottery, and it's never been none.

In a world I win the Lottery, CWC might well be happily married.

I originally saw some video about the Creepiest Guy on the Internet. It was just hilarious - and one of the commentators asked - "Is this the Sonichu guy?". I googled that immediately, and yeah - I was kind of a real fan of Sonichu for a while. Discovering more and more on the CWCiki, it just got way out of hand. However, I can honestly say that I thought it was way-past-cool when I first read it online.

For all the wrong reasons, obviously.
