Off-Topic Does Phil have Borderline Personality Disorder? -

I've looked it up and it kinda looks like he does.

I thought of this when I read up on the condition. Turns out, therapists, psychologists and everyone kinda thinks of this disorder as soon as they see signs of self harm in someone. That certainly fits Phil, seeing as how he's shown off him cutting himself. I looked through a few of the other signs, though, and they certainly seem to fit Phil.

So, what does the rest of Kiwi Farms think? Does Phil have BPD?

• Splitting. Definitely. If Phil doesn't consider you in a positive light, you're automatically every single negative characteristic he can think up. Consider him calling Skarlett Krow "anti-indigenous" after she threw him out. And this goes all the way back to his ADF-Fuensalida days, when he correlated the entirety of 4chan with racism, homophobia, white supremacy, and support for John McCain.
• Chaos in relationships. I don't think I need to elaborate here.
• Markedly disturbed sense of identity. Understatement of the year.
• Intense or uncontrollable emotional outbursts. Understatement of the decade.
• Unstable interpersonal relationships and self-esteem. Understatement of the goddamn century.
• Concerns about abandonment. The vast majority of his Facebook activity is transparent fishing for attention and asspats, when it's not autistic rambling about road signs and Imaginationland.
• Self-damaging behavior. This fits into what Skarlett mentioned about him superficially cutting himself, but this also applies to his entire existence.
• Distorted self-image. Understatement of the fucking millennium.
• Impulsivity. I'm sure he regrets a lot of his current tattoos, now that he's had them for a while.
• Frequently accompanied by depression, anxiety, anger, substance abuse, or rage. Everything fits except substance abuse, unless you consider tattoo ink as a "substance."

I'm not about to diagnose someone over the Internet, even if I do know far too much about them. But I think it's pretty apparent that Phil displays a lot of the major symptoms of BPD. What's more likely, I think, is that he's a whopping cocktail of mental illness. Two parts BPD, one part ASPD, a dash of fetal alcohol syndrome, and a handle of autism.

True, but that's the thing about BPD: it's very similar to other personality disorders. It's kinda on the border between other disorders (which is where the name comes from).

A few other signs that point to BPD in my opinion:

1) Unstable relationships: Phil can't manage to keep friends long. Even when people will put up with him, he goes back and forth between loving and hating them (for example, Rika, Jordman, Tweaker and his own parents).

2) Disturbed sense of identity: Let's face it, changes identities like most people change underwear. One day he's hispanic, next day he's Jewish, then he wants to be a weeaboo then he's gay then he's bi then he's a lesbian and on and on.

3) Concerns about abandonment: Phil just has to get those asspats, and when he isn't getting them, his stress level always goes up.

4) Self damaging behavior: He's had a history of cutting himself. His tattoos and BDSM games are all close to this, too.

5) Distorted self image: Phil thinks there's nothing wrong with his thinking and that autism is perfectly fine. He also thinks he's some beautiful, latinx woman and that no man can look at him without being overwhelmed with the desire to rape him.

This all seems really Phil. The primary signs of BPD are things like unstable idenity, unstable interpersonal relationships, impulsivity, anger, aggression, self harming... all things that fit Phil.

As a faggot with the bpd I'm gonna say maybe. Bpd can have over 217 unique sets of symptoms and can vary dramatically from person to person.

I've met a few like Phil and they are looked down on even by other borderlines because they can't or won't take any responsibility of their actions. The splitting they get is less good vs bad, but me vs you, so everyone is wrong and out to get them. It's much easier to fall back on this projection than admit you might have issues that need to be worked on because they are abusive. No one wants to think they are a bad person even if they act manipulatively and violently. To that group of borderlines they will always be victims unless they seek real help.

Most borderlines who look down on this type are sick of dealing with the stigma they cause that makes gaining treatment harder. Many psychs can and do turn away a patient on reading bpd in theor file. These borderlines see themselves as the bad when splitting, or not good enough when compared to others and see themselves as being unworthy and always fucking up so that stigma is doubly damaging when coming from a mental health professional.

All borderline shit is based on self loathing and the resulting coping skills developed to deal with it. Phil does have that and trying to mask ot behind bravado, manipulation into making others see him as a victim and impuslivity. Really torn about it but he could very well have my own tism.

No, Phil is borderline intellectually sub normal and just a rather unpleasant person in general with odd drives and impulses people unlike him can't fathom easily.

Now the basic's are lined out I'll elaborate, Phil as I have said before a rather dim bulb with a IQ in the range of 80-85 this leads to him making poor decisions as a matter of course, the thing is unlike Chris he's aware that he's not quite normal in comparison to other people and this is hugely frustrating to him and leads him be permanently grumpy and to take a unwarranted sense of pride (an the associated ego boost) in what he thinks he does know.

The next thing to remember about Phil is he's a sperg and a big one, when he has a obsession he can't let go of it easily even if he wanted to and combine that with his low intellect it will take things to the most illogical extremes possible. Some of his obsessions are benign like his Cartography and Road signs other's are driven by what he thinks he'll get out of it mostly acceptance for a period of time to sooth his permanent state of frustration with the world. What doesn't help is Phil can't grasp a concept in any meaningful way that's even slightly complex it's one of the reasons long posts like this tend to really frustrate him he can read most of the words, and understands some of them but after a paragraph or so the comprehension of what he's just read has simply gone from his mind by that point, that's one of the reasons I infuriate him he knows I'm saying something he wont like but can't quite work it out.

This also ties into his remarkably fluid self image, or at least the one that he wants to project to the world you see for the most part Phil doesn't believe his own lies he really wants some things to be true even for a period of time (to assist in his feeling like he fit's in) what he wants at any time is for other's to believe them so he can try and gain something from the manipulation he wants to try and pull off within that group, that's why the SJW listen and believe culture coming about around the time he was starting to ware his welcome out with his first circle of friends was so toxic for him (an others like Phil) he could make any claim he wanted and it would get believed in his eyes (or it would be more put that he wouldn't be called out on it openly for some time at least) this fed his ego and made him bolder with his attempted deceptions, that's why he progressed from German Jew, to Gay German Jew to Cosplaying Gay Jew, to Cosplaying Latina (because he cycled back into his late 90's early 00's obsession with Latin American culture). It's not what he really believe himself to be but it's what he's learned to say he is because it suits him and he can't bring himself to admit publicly that he's not because he's committed to the lie even if he knows he isn't what he claims to be.

He also has poor impulse control, you know the way we say Chris can't control himself with Lego? Well Phil is like that but with his poorly understood knowledge. We have all met some one like this at a party or in the office that read a book or web page on this subject 5 years ago and think that they are a expert on the subject and will try an go toe to toe in a battle of wits with a real expert. The thing is he doesn't like to lose face so he will run his mouth on something, But what really sinks him in this regard is his tendency to seek out something he likes whenever a opportunity presents it's self to do so no mater how small he will do it, so that leads his bad diet and bizarrely open sexual identity that's one of the reasons he see's no problem with getting dressed up in his bondadge gear in public among other things.

The last thing is, even if we cured him of all that through a magical click of the fingers he'd still be a rather unpleasant person to be exposed to. Phil is a Malicious, Manipulative little Coward whenever he is given a chance (he's also a bit of a narcissist but that's a moot point here) those are personality traits that can't alone be ascribed to his general incompetence and unwarranted sense of self importance that's just how he'd be if he was of normal intellect and had no unusually spergy obsessions.

Phil has displayed a really malicious vindictive streak whenever he thinks he can get away with it, and will try and defame others who he thinks have wronged him at every opportunity to do so, he also likes to try no matter how poorly to get others to join in with his cack handed attempts at character assassination and if he can attack what he perceives as a soft target he'll gladly try an start a feeding frenzy or join in with one that's currently going on more so even because of his rather large yellow streak, because as I said Phil's coward you could bifurcate him and along his rather small soft spine that word would be written on every inch of it in piss yellow "Coward" Phil will always run from a fight he can't win or waddle at speed at any rate but will conjure up a success when in reality he really got a good and often well deserved beating, so if given the chance to lay in the proverbial boot to a bigger target that's already down he will do so with glee.

It's a possibility, after all we only see the portion of Phil that he decides to put on the internet, namely those salty salty chips. He could definitely fit the profile on the black-and-white worldview, attention seeking, outrageous lying, poor impulse control, self-loathing, neediness and skewed perception of other people, but to me there are some inconsistencies.

Obviously every case of BPD is unique and it's only for a professional to say what's BPD and what isn't, but from personal experiences I'd say he isn't. What really does it for me is the lack of desperation. Of course he tags all his friends in status' as he craves those sweet, sweet asspats, but typically when someone who is borderline starts feeling abandoned they'll spin out of control and veer from begging that person to come back into their life and wanting them dead. There's also his "suicide attempts", generally speaking when somebody with BPD self-harms they reeallyy self-harm. Though Phil has poor impulse control and participates in self-destructive behavior the vast majority of that appears to be unintentional on his part. He doesn't drink, gamble or do drugs, the only addictions he appears to have which acts as escapism are planning his fake country and his fixation on transforming his identities. To me these seem more like symptoms of his autism than anything else.

If Phil had his life together more I'd say it's much more possible. However with Phil's lifestyle and the many extremes he puts up with he seems far too complacent. I wouldn't say he's exactly content, but the fact he's still alive, hasn't grievously injured himself/anyone else and does very little in terms of trying to make himself numb to his situations make me doubt it. If I had to attribute anything to Phil I'd say that, similar to Chris, he never really developed out of a child's mindset. Imagining Chris with a marginal amount more intelligence and socilisation also trying to be an edgy, oppressed tumblrina's wetdream without Borb there to keep him under their roof and vidya to keep him occupied I basically get Phil. Only instead of being a beautiful latinx transwoman he's a sexy xchu lesbian.

Both BPD and APD are Cluster-B personality disorders so you see a ton of overlap either way.

Some consider them to just be gendered versions of each other with BPD being for women and APD being for men. If this is the case then Phil definitely has APD because he is 100% male

Personally I don't subscribe to this theory, having met a male with BPD. Gender is currently a hot-button in psychology right now that I honestly just kinda... dont want to look at. Nonetheless, do we know if he believes himself to be these things or does he know that he's lying about them?
