What fascinates me is that when Trump was elected, Trannies and fags had week-long meltdowns, thinking they'd get thrown in FEMA camps and get gassed, while Trump would sell out the country to Russia. We had a good laugh and nothing happened.
And then Biden gets elected and what is the first reaction of Trumptards? "HURR DURR They stole the election, they'll put us in FEMA camps and gas us! America is fucked, Biden will sell out the country to China! Abloo bloo bloo."
I stopped paying attention after a while because it as a lot of stupid. But what I do remember is something that always comes up whenever there's going to be a regime change. The opposition always says the same thing, "there's going to be a crisis right before the election. President (whatever) will suspend the election, declare martial law and will be set up as El Presidente for life and the Republicans / Democrats will go along with it. We'll then be rounded up and sent to re-education camps and blah blah blah".

This has been going on since Bush the Younger was in office or at least that's when I noticed it the first time. I'd be surprised if it hasn't been going back for longer at least since the 80's but social media has invaded our very lives meaning it's so much easier to find now.

Clinton didn't suspend elections.
Bush didn't suspend elections.
Obama didn't suspend elections.
Trump didn't suspend elections.
And Biden won't suspend elections.

Please. Find another empty conspiracy to push forward. This one is really getting tired.

I think Trump was only interested in securing the Presidency for the sake of the prestige and the constant attention the position would grant him. I don't think he ever cared about the job itself, or any of the responsibilities that came with it.
At first this was the case. But as he continued and half the population praised him, he got into the role. It's why he continues LARPing as the President now because he's addicted to that kind of attention.

Being a former President can be very lucrative, just ask the Clintons.
Speaking fees and all that never hurt anybody.

I don't really see how you guys can have such a strong emotional investment in the character of Trump in the middle of a maelstrom of crises engineered by the current POTUS. One guy is currently tanking the economy, lost a war, destroyed the border and is fumbling hard on infrastructural management and the other guy is a has-been who couldn't figure out how to get a Mastadon fork for his crappy one-person Twitter clone.

I imagine the legal immunities which came with the position can't have been unattractive to him either; especially given his cavalier attitude towards the rule of law, his antipathy towards taking responsibility, and the various uncertainties surrounding his finances.
Once the tell-all memoirs and leaky interviews with administration insiders started coming out in 2018 or so, this was readily apparent. He had this Boomer executive mentality that said a white collar bigwig should be in the office calling shots from 11–6, with a lunch break in there somewhere. He had the attention span of a gnat and no interest in briefings or all the other dull parts of the job. He liked the parts of the job that were like being president in a TV show, not real life.

It's because we're not only laughing at him for being a complete and utter buffoon but we're also laughing at comments from people like yourself who engage in that age old practice of "whataboutism". You know when somebody brings up a point about somebody else and a third person comes in saying, "yeah? Well what about (name of person here) who (did something)? How do you feel about that?"

Typically this is done because they don't have an actual point to make but instead want to change the discourse so that the faults of the previous somebody aren't discussed and instead everybody needs to talk about this new person for... reasons.

You don't control the discourse. If you want to talk about how Biden is the biggest lolcow EVAR and the worst President and just an example of everything wrong with the world then make a thread about him and engage there. Here we're laughing at Trump. And you.

The economy is tanking cause the coof has affected global trade: demands of goods is low, exchange of services is low, resources are expensive. And that is ignoring all the shit from Trump's idiotic trade wars with his closest allies in an utterly ignorant move of "America First". Unless Biden had a sniff in a Wuhan lab, I doubt you can really blame the coof on him and I doubt that the entire rest of the globe is falling into the sword, just to keep up a facade of a fake pandemic to get a worthless geriatric in the White House replaced by another worthless geriatric.

Is that "lost a war" thing related to Afghanistan? Cause wow-whee. That would just be mind-numbingly stupid. The war in Afghanistan was lost in three stages:
1) Going to war without a long-term strategy or goal. Bush just wanted to blow shit up and hope for the best, it was suggested by other nations to engage in nation building. However this was never truly put into practice as the USA in its leading role just dragged its feet. There were a few well intentioned and well executed political changes, but ultimately, we get to the next stage:
2) Shifting focus to Iraq and putting people into office in Afghanistan whose administrative incompetence was only dwarved by their outright cartoonishly brazen corruption. The USA didn't give a shit and with a government like that in place, nothing would ever lead to a political stable and sustainable situation. And then, the last act of this travesty:
3) Trump pulling out. Without the change to Biden, Trump would have withdrawn his troops even sooner. It was a shitshow the way it happened, can you imagine the shitshow we would have gotten had this shit started even earlier? It was also Trump who made a deal with the Taliban and look how that turned out.
Yeah, it was an all around failure of GOP presidents and DEM presidents alike, but to blame it on Biden cause he's in charge now? That's just fucking stupid, man.

And because that's too many words for most Trumpfags:

Shitty economy is because of COVID fucking up trade and manufacturing worldwide, and Afghanistan is because of 20 years of retardation by several presidents, including Trump who wanted to pull out in March and also released about 5,000 Taliban prisoners, including the current leader of the Taliban.

Hilariously enough a chunk of the border crisis can be firmly blamed on Republican election rumor mongering and Dem presidents absolutely loathe it. Republicans bleet endlessly about democrats being for amnesty, which encourages more people to try and enter the country illegally under Dem presidents. It’s also that this last year has been especially hard economically for everyone globally, the last admin refused to hire more people for actually process asylum claims (which is tying up lots of shit and has caused a backlog) and built a useless fucking wall. The best way to keep migrants from wanting to come here is making their nations less fucking shit.

Glad to see he’s not stopping the crazy at least.

Trump asks Florida judge to force Twitter to restart his account - Bloomberg News

Oct 1 (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Donald Trump asked a federal judge in Florida to force Twitter (TWTR.N) to reinstate his account, Bloomberg News reported late on Friday.

In July Trump sued Twitter, Facebook Inc (FB.O) and Alphabet Inc's (GOOGL.O) Google, as well as their chief executives, alleging they unlawfully silence conservative viewpoints.

Trump's request for a preliminary injunction against Twitter was filed late on Friday in Miami, claiming the social media company canceled his account in January under pressure from his political rivals in Congress, the report said.

Twitter declined to comment. Trump's representatives did not immediately respond to Reuters request for comment outside business hours.

Trump lost his social media megaphone this year after the companies said he violated their policies against glorifying violence.

Hundreds of his supporters launched a deadly assault on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 after Trump in a speech repeating his false claims that his election defeat was the result of widespread fraud, an assertion rejected by multiple courts, state election officials and members of his own administration.

Twitter "exercises a degree of power and control over political discourse in this country that is immeasurable, historically unprecedented, and profoundly dangerous to open democratic debate," Bloomberg quoted the former president's request as saying.

*GASP!* Your totally right!

Hey Null, lock any thread that doesn't address Biden, as clearly nothing else is worth talking about on FUCKING KIWI FARMS than what Biden is doing!

Christ on a fucking cracker, where do you think you are? I know I said this place was basically /pol/, but I learned better over time. You need to do the same it sounds like. You wanna slag on Biden, you got a whole thread elsewhere to do it.

Trump doesn’t do much these days except seethe impotently and yell at clouds. Trying to force Twitter to unban him by throwing the justice system at them is especially futile. You can tell how much he misses the power and attention he had as president. No grift could ever match those four years.

He's still got enough of a following to make most other grifter's jealous though, he ain't out of the game yet by any means.

That’s true, he can grift off his followers until the day he hits six feet under. They’re not going to notice their love and adoration will never be enough for him because being president made him feel special and he can’t recreate that feeling without his Oval Office Diet Coke button.

Yep like he whines about how the election has been stolen from him and acting like it's the worst thing to happen this century while his followers praise him for being an "alpha male patriot who won't back down from the fight"

Trump is like a petulant toddler: he likes to throw a tantrum when things don't go his way, no matter how trivial the issue might seem to a normal person. I'm no psychologist, but I'm inclined to attribute this to some form of arrested development, because it's as if he never fully advanced beyond the egocentric stage described by child psychologists.

If anyone wants any insight into Trump's character, I'd strongly recommend watching the interview he gave in 2000 with Ruby Wax. When it became apparent to him that it wasn't going to be a puff piece about how awesome he is, he became increasingly agitated and impatient; eventually veering off topic to go on a bitter tirade against Selina Scott (another journalist who he felt "wronged" him by asking him difficult questions in an interview several years previously). It was a cringeworthy viewing experience, although there was a very interesting segment where Wax went to interview a group of Trump fans who'd lost millions in his casinos, yet acted like it was nothing but an honor for them to lose money to him. Truly, P. T. Barnum was right.

There's only one thing I agree with righties on regarding Trump: I hate hearing about him all the time

I sometimes wish I could just lie down and forget the utter insanity that was the past five years. It was funny at first but now it's just nauseating. I want to go back to when politics was boring and formulaic

Honestly, it’s been so nice not having to hear his voice, see his dumb face and wake up every morning wondering what shitshow he caused overnight.
