I think I mentioned it in here before, in the 90s, zoos hated furries, because they were 'wannabes', in essence. There were crossover, but the hardcore like Spink mostly thought furry was a lame substitute for the Real Thing.
I remember seeing Actaeon around way back when. He was one of the ones who DID cross over. Without going into string board detail, I don't think he's one of Spink's IDs.

You guys are right. I did some further investigation and indeed, Spink and Actaeon are two different people.
They share some similarities and that made me think it was one and the same person. Here's a list why I thought they might be one and the same person:
- Both are spergers who seem to be very focused in what they are doing and go 250% for it. The barrage of bullshit they produce is immense.
- Actaeon.org was registered by Spink and hosted on his servers.
- In the 90's Spink lived in Oregon (21641 Nw Dairy Creek Rd, North Plains); In 1996 he was 25y old, from the arrest records we know he's 6ft1, has brown eyes and around that time weighted 175lbs. In 1996 Actaeon made a post 'Actaeon seeks a mate; Oregon SWM zoo, late 20s, seeks like-minded female for childless LTR' (note: I overlooked Late 20s),
His height matches but not his weight "I'm just over six feet tall, weigh about 210" (Doug had the same weight in the 2000s; mixed that up too)
Actaeon interests have a lot in common with Spink: "My main interests include dogs, horses, wildlife, outdoor activities (including hunting, as ironic as that may seem for a zoo), Star Trek, and Macintosh computers. "
One of Doug's twitter accounts was CryptoStud. He tweets about his love for Macs; We're all aware about his love for dogs, horses and outdoor activities.

- Actaeon's first 'love' was the neighbor's dog and so I thought was the case for Doug's. (it's neighborhood) I only discovered recently that in Actaeon's case it was a German Shepherd and in Doug's case it was a Golden Retriever.

I imagine (and I am speculating wildly here) it's partially overexposure to pornography (the hedonic treadmill), principally in adolescence before one's fetishes "set", and echo chambers (i.e. lack of critical feedback). Don't underestimate your ability to start liking whatever it is you are thinking of when you happen to have an orgasm, especially if you reinforce it later (psychiatrist Park Dietz, who is quoted extensively in Brian Masters' excellent biography of Jeffrey Dahmer, believes that lurid detective magazines featuring combined nudity and violence created multiple serial killers: Ted Bundy explicitly says that looking at these covers is where he got his start. Dietz actually suggested a media rule, which naturally went nowhere, that no sex scene in a movie transpire within a certain time period of violence to stop young people unconsciously linking the two). Autistic people commonly like and understand animals more than people -- they have basic needs that are easy to interpret, compared to the vast complexity of human motivation, and they don't have the capacity to reject you. They also like animation because of the easy-to-read facial expressions and unlifelike simplicity of plot and character: so perhaps there is a chain of depravity in some people from liking Sonic to wanting to fuck the real thing if common sense or the end of adolescence's relative plasticity of preferences doesn't rein it in. In any event, autistic people certainly have trouble unconsciously internalizing social programming, making them highly susceptible to taking up bizarre subcultures they are exposed to.
It's also not a coincidence that these guys, much like transgender people, tend to come from the least attractive decile of the population -- I think you've given up on any hope of human companionship, probably not irrationally, the first time you jerk off to an animal. Even where they are not, something about the solipsism and empathy deficits (yes, I am aware of what autistic people claim about empathy, which is false) of autism make them extremely unattractive as potential partners. Women in particular are attracted to status in their partners, and there is nothing more low-status than not knowing basic social skills or the rules of the society in which you operate. Even if you can find a niche like programming where you can thrive.
Fetishes are also highly correlated to one another (you're more likely to have 0 or 3 than 1). Fixated pedophiles have lower IQ on average and typically genuinely believe they are doing no wrong, believing themselves to be true romantic good guys: I imagine most zoophiles are the same. Of course ugliness and poor social skills are correlated with low IQ in any event: I haven't had enough interest in the topic to read the literature to disentangle whether pedophiles and zoophiles are *unusually* dumb.
In some communities, "vanilla" preferences are actually derided as boring. I have seen people acquire new fetishes from having orgasms in proximity to them: beware of what you cum to, or even around. I've seen numerous people well into adulthood acquire a new interest in homosexual sex for instance. Also certain drugs, particularly amphetamines, lower the disgust threshold (so does libido, which is why you may be horrified with your partner or internet browser post-orgasm) and so make the acquisition of new fetishes like this much more likely -- I would love to see some data on whether people diagnosed with ADHD are more likely to have had same-sex experiences (among other things, of course, but homosexuality being the easiest proxy for this idea). I imagine so.

Jenny Edwards from Hope For Horses was also present during Douglas Spink's evidentiary hearing & court which happened a year later in May and June 2011.

Some highlights:
- Animals: about fifteen mice, all coated in KY jelly, 7 large dogs and 4 horses. All dogs and horses were males.
- The 4 dogs were trained to have sex with humans; both as giver & receiver. On the videos Stephen Clarke could be seen penetrating a dog and later
a dog penetrated him. Clarke's famous words: "He feels a lot bigger then he looks"
