My surgery jurney start 3 years ago Kathy Rumor was one of the only surgeons I found that did not require electralisys before surgery. Which is why I chose her.
My first consult went well Kathy seemed vary polite and professional. And eager to help. but, then after, i heard nothing from her office. My follow up emails and phone calls we're never returned.

So mid 2017 I inquired again as a new patient. Through blind email on her website. Again, her office greeted me warmly and scheduled a second consult. My file wasn't lost it was still in the office. They refenced it during the call. The consult was scheduled a month and half out. I was told it was the earliest appointment available. Which seemed odd but ok.

At first, I was told I would not have to pay for a second consultation. But then, I received a letter from my insurance company that stated they paid a consultation fee to the office of Kathy Rumor.

While Kathy herself was professional enough. I got the feeling when talking to her this time that she did not like or want to perform this type of surgery. I felt like I was bothering her. The call lasted about 20 min.

Dr. Rumors' office staff is a whole other story. Many emails never returned. Never really talking to the same person on the phone and at times, down right rude. After many unreturned emails and phone calls eventually the person who handles insurance claims for Kathy told me to call my insurance company and handle it myself. Which, if you have ever called an insurance company is an entirely different story.

Kathy Rumor or her office hasn't bothered to follow up with me. Since.
I have read several review sights on Dr. Kathy Rumor and all of them say pretty horrible things about both her work and business.

So my advice to anyone. Read the reviews, Ask for a portfolio, Ask every question you have. And go with your gut feeling. Most importantly, if a business which you are spending a whole lot of money with doesn't treat you like a partner.... Don't waist your time. And absolutely, do not waist your money.

Unsurprisingly, these all paint a picture of Dr. Kathy Rumer as sociopathic, incompetent, negligent, and money-grubbing.

I dunno. I went on a deep dive the other night, reading through lots of horror stories and ended up just feeling desperately sad for these people. They have been sold an insidious lie by the trans community and these doctors. No amount of money or surgery will turn you into what you want to be. Never, ever go to a doctor that decided late in life that they wanted to be a doctor, especially for something this specialized and personal. Normal people don't go to school to become engineers, do it for a decade, and then decide to be a medical doctor.

Most of these are red flags on their own, but together they paint a horrifying picture. Some people have suggested in this thread that Dr. Rumer may secretly be a TERF op, but I don't think so. Whatever malice she may have towards trans people is nowhere near her desire for money. She strikes me as someone who realized two decades ago that she could make easy money performing niche, little-studied surgeries, and the flow of cash hasn't stopped since, especially seeing as she's now found a way to take advantage of people from low-income households.

If the number is accurate, 400 or so surgeries per year is A LOT for one person. And keep in mind that she wouldn't just be in the operating room, she'd also be doing consultations with the clients for every individual surgical procedure, along with whatever other duties she has to perform to keep her business afloat. No wonder she's allegedly really bad about post-operative care - even if she actually gave a shit about her patients, I doubt she'd have the time to see them for it. That's probably a big part of the reason why she has no example photos of her own work on her website, aside from the fact that so many of her results are terrible.

As was pointed out, it's also really weird that she does nearly every transgender and transgender-adjacent surgery possible according to her website. Even among surgeons who specifically perform trans surgeries, most will specialize in one or two specific things. Facial feminization surgery, double mastectomies, body sculpting, and vaginoplasty (to name a few) all require totally different knowledge of a specific part of the body + the way they're affected by sexual characteristics, and can have many different techniques. No reasonable surgeon would try to learn how to do all of these things at once.

TL;DR: She's clearly churning out as many operations as possible to make as much money as possible.

Found the explanation for this strange (and obviously untrue) claim.

"Follicle scraping". But as mentioned above, it doesn't actually work.
Rumer just claims it does so that her victims don't get distracted by hair removal treatments as a prerequisite to surgery. Some quick googling suggests that hair removal is fairly expensive and requires multiple sessions over a period of ~6 months to 2 years to complete.

Btw, searching for "Dr. Rumer" on reddit turns up a bunch of threads with terrified and regretful troons. She's like a bogeyman, lol. But at the same time, you'll see quite a few troons lament that their insurance won't/wouldn't accept any other surgeon.

She doesn’t want to book revisions because it doesn’t bill well. Aftercare crap is also a time waster that pays poorly - she wants to be spending all her time getting people into the OR for the biggest money earners she can get. I’m sure she has her staff handling all her consultations and sales pitches. Basically just seeing her patients right before surgery and spending the majority of her time in surgery to make the money. She’s doing a fuckload of surgeries for one person.

She’s just printing money in the OR. Because Medicaid has approved GRS in PA, and other states, she’s getting a huge pool of crazy trannies that have little choice in surgeons because there aren’t a ton doing the procedure so she’s probably getting all the PA Medicaid patients and a lot more from nearby east coast states that Medicaid covers the procedure but don’t have surgeons in the own state that do the procedure and/or accept Medicaid.

She basically found a niche Medicaid billing bonanza- she’s the only game in town for a lot of people. Doctors that accept Medicaid are almost always quantity over quality practices. You don’t get high billing reimbursements, but as long as there are a lot of them you can still make a lot of money.

She’s the only game in town for lots of broke troons that want the govt to pay for their genital mutilation. Troons with common sense would just save up to go to a better surgeon or try to move to the west coast to get their state Medicaid systems to pay for it using better surgeons, but I’d bet the wait lists are long there where as Dr Rumor offers almost drive-thru speed service

The more troons who get these procedures done and then make bold-faced lies about how they look/how they smell/how painful they are, the more pre-operative troons there will be lining up to get them. It's like an ouroboros of cock-chopping, flesh sausages, and necrotic flesh, except you're a disgusting transphobic bigot if you express any measure of concern for their wellbeing.

There is no helping them, and there is no saving them. Like any other jumper dangling above a 750-foot tall drop, they're going to fling themselves off of it no matter how much you plead with them not to. They will always find other options, and there will always be "better" surgeons; as long as that little spark of hope persists, they will risk death trying to chase after it... and then neck themselves once the euphoria wears off or, more commonly, blame everyone but themselves for letting this happen to them.
