Rhys is a sick puppy but not in an unusual, or interesting way. As a fat 48 year old staring at weights he can't lift, riding bikes that don't go fast, he will segue into a more entertaining emotional state. Might start bashing women, so, watch out world.

I think, if anything, Rhys was overpraised in childhood, probably by mommy; this may have been to compensate for the supposed emotional aloofness of Pops McKinnon. Rhys and his mother seem close, they even got “mother daughter” tattoos (see the marker scribble on his hand).
I’m 99% sure Rhys, like Jake Alley and Jonathan Yaniv— stellar company there— is an only child. Naturally he would be getting the lion’s share of attention in the family. NPD tends to develop in childhood in two ways: either the child is neglected or overindulged.
The first group are more likely compensating for neglect by creating a self-centered psyche, an “I always come first” mentality.
I have a relative of this type who grew up in extreme poverty; this was their coping mechanism.
The second group will be the spoiled child type like Rhys, who are not emotionally challenged during development and thus don’t develop healthy coping skills when facing opposition and otherwise lack empathy for others. They’re conditioned to expect rewards and submission to their superiority. When the world doesn’t meet them with anything but adulation, they become defiant and angry, even aggressive.

This is something else that troons don't understand - women bully each other. We do. Sometimes mercilessly. I'd argue that in a way pyschological bullying is worse than beating someone up. I wonder if the issue is perhaps the moms overstepping their bounds. They have husbands who are likely emotionally distant and instead they get their emotional needs met by their sons rather than their husbands. They might even get an earful about how awful the dad is. So, they identify more with mom and when they start turning into men themselves, they troon out trying to be more like mom instead of turning into a shit guy like their dad.
I obviously have no idea what I'm talking about just speculating here, but I've wondered how many troons end up like this because they hate their fathers.
