As a B I can't speak for the L but I would expect a lot of lesbians would find them hot. What Rhys is probably getting at here, although of course he would never admit it, is that his AGP started to present when he was in sixth grade. "Didn't know if I was gay" presumably refers to his confused preteen fantasies of being a lesbian and/or to the pseudobisexuality that often accompanies AGP.
