Licensed games are notorious for being bad, but once in a while, there are a few licensed gems and Ducktales is one of them.

Deep down in our wildest dreams we asked for maybe a remake or something, but we never asked for one for we knew it was next to impossible. Well, my friends, our wildest dreams have come true. They are gonna remake Ducktales.

Goddammit I wish I had a Wii U because I fucking love the original.

...By the way the theme they use in the video is actually from the full version of the song and it's different from the one used in the actual show opening.[/sperg]

Yeah, I don't have a Wii-U either. If I am going to get another console it would probably be a 3DS or one of those Ouyas depending on how successful it is.

I usually prefer handhelds.

I actually never played the original.

Am I going to be assaulted for this?

To best honest, I've never played the original either, but I've heard about how it's one of the best licensed games ever made.

Almost all other licensed games want to be like Ducktales.

There was a website around some years back detailing the changes between the beta and final versions, as well as an interview with someone who worked on the game. If it were still here I'd link you guys to it, because you might find it interesting to see the changes that occurred in the five months between the beta and final release.

It was easier to make licensed games "back in the day" because all you really had to do was take any game and make the sprites look like the characters from said cartoon. (not having a go at Ducktails, just pointing something out from a game design perspective) Your imagination filled in the blanks.

Most modern licensed games suck because...

A: They're often made by totally unknown studios on a small budget.
B: The studio is restricted by the story/plot devices of the license.
C: They have very short development cycles and are rushed to coincide with the licenses cinema/tv release.

But that doesn't take away from the fact that an all time classic is getting a fresh lick of paint for a new generation.

I've never played it either (as I didn't exist back when NESes were in their prime), but I'm totally going to play this. Don't fuck this up, Capcom.

Every year the first game I sit down and beat is Ducktales. It is the songle greatest licensed game ever made and anyone who disagrees is bad and should feel bad.

There's a catch on this remake. They included Megaman in this game, to insult Keiji Inafune.

I do love The Moon, its filled with so much... hope, like, its one of those songs that you play when you achieve greatness. There is just so much emotion in that song, I love it.

Hi guys, just thought I'd share this from Game Informer.

"Capcom took fan questions on its online message board and confirmed that the show's original voice actors have returned to work on the game.

The confirmation comes from Capcom's corporate officer/senior vice-president Christian Svensson who said, "We have ALL the original voice actors from the show. Scrooge's voice actor [Alan Young] is now 94 years old but he still came into the studio and did his thing like a pro. The voice work really adds a lot to the package."
"

94 years old!!!!

What a legend!!
