I know a German who sued someone for calling him a Nazi (he was not a Nazi), and won, but it was a really abbreviated procedure and the defendant only had to pay something like a parking ticket level fine and stop doing that.Spain's court system sounds like a mess. He didn't even participate in the holocaust, just the war, and they got him on "offending the memory" of victims.
European courts seem to have a strange disregard for anything resembling freedom of speech, but also don't tend to deliver life-ruining level verdicts. You don't see a million bajillion dollars verdicts because someone stubbed their toe, like you do here in Murrica.
